On Tuesday morning at approximately 6am I lost my little man and best friend. I spent 4 hours in the emergency (vet) room and several thousand dollars for exams only for this Doctor to assure me he was fine and to take him home, only to have him pass away a few hours later.

The doctor is now stating the she recommended that he stayed in ICU for the evening only after I contacted an attorney for malpractice. Unfortunately, this is not a lawsuit that can be won.

I now would like to reach out to any dog lovers to assist me in making sure that this Doctor does not have the ability to do this to anyone else.

Already done douche. Figured there might be some compassion from professional SEO's in the "Giving a Shit" section of the forum. That's clearly not you so why even bother posting a comment?
 
If this is a large area, negative SEO'ing helps but you might be well off going to the local media. A lot of them will take stories about hack doctors or vets and run with it. That or rent a billboard for a month.

You have to admit, it's a weird first post. Did you just pick a forum at random or something? Or were you expecting people here to rally round, build you a revenge website against the vet, and SEO it for you?
 
You are correct. It may be a weird first post. However, its not my first post. I have been in this space before most of you have been on the net and know Jon personally. I figured I would get some useful information given its "Shooting the Shit" category. Unfortunately, its the same thing you typically get from this portion of the forum. Thanks for the assistance. Sometimes people (as well as animals) pass away for no reason at all,

Suing the doctor isn't going to bring your best friend back.

I sympathize with you and wish you the best, may you heal your wounds and find another dog to play with your testicles in the evenings.

In all honesty, I understand where you're at right now. But your have to understand that nobody's psychic. If the doctor knew your dog was going to pass away he probably wouldn't have sent him home with you.

I do think he's being pretty shady by saying that he recommended your dog stay in the ICU for the evening when he didn't actually recommend that.

Its not a fake account, it's an additional account. I assumed the nature of the assistance I was looking for was not appropriate to associate with my primary account.
 
Just to clarify. I am not looking to recruit any SEOs. I was simply looking for some advice on how to prevent this from happening to anyone else in NYC.
 
So let me get this right... The dog was doing something odd like throwing up, so you took it to the emergency vet rather than your usual vet because it was midnight at the time. Given the time of night, I'd presume this was a very sudden onset of symptoms.

The emergency vet who had no prior history of your pet, so they did the usual checks. Given you say 'several thousand' I'd suspect there were xrays, blood work, and various other tests done. Given the usual vet waiting times, it's likely 2 of the 4 hours were spent on this exam, the rest by vet techs doing everything in-between.

After all of this, the dog didn't show any prominent signs of ingesting any solid objects or string that might destroy it's digestive tract, and there were no normal signs of poison, so the vet, who was probably exhausted given the time of night, told you to keep an eye on him, but he seemed alright. Naturally your dog couldn't argue this for itself, so you took it home and it died.

Here are some facts for you:

1) There are very few quality vets available at midnight
2) Just because the dog died doesn't mean it was the vets fault, more than likely the problem was caused by neglegence on your part as to what you leave around for it to eat.
3) If you left it in observation it probably would have died anyway. Which means you wouldn't have been with the dog when it passed away.
4) Just because you spend a lot of money doesn't mean the vet can diagnose or fix an animal that is incapable of feedback

Apologies for my remarks before, but it would have been wise to say this in your initial
post. You should have known that the tolerance level of first-time posters is low when
they stray outside the noob forum. No wonder you got barked at.

Thanks Chianti. I assumed that I was going to get barked at but give the nature of the post, I made the mistake of assuming there might be a just a tad compassion given this has nothing to do with marketing. Thank you for your post.
