Hi, same merchants on both of these networks, but stats are completely different. How come people earn 5 or 8 times more per click depending on where (SaS or CJ) they promote the merchant.
Just couple random examples:

Splendia (one of the hotel reservation programs):
average EPC on CJ during the last 90 days 66.54$
average EPC on SaS during the last 30 days $242.89 (+ knowing they pay 10% on SaS while 12% on CJ)

FragranceX (fragrance shop):
average EPC on CJ during the last 90 days 13.93$
average EPC on SaS during the last 30 days 107.66$

Both base their EPC on 100 clicks.

Ok I understand that differences may be due to different affiliates and their tactics but those programs are high volume programs so you don't expect them to perform so much different.
I mean how come affiliates promoting fragrancex shop on SaS earn 8 TIMES more money per click than those promoting the same merchant on CJ? Like I said I would not be surprised to see that for some low traffic merchant (because if you have 2 affiliates promoting merchant on SaS and 3 on CJ they may use different approach) but in this case you have lots of affiliates (based on sas and cj stats ) so statistics should even out at least a bit..

Maybe SaS does not report all the clicks hence the stats look better?

Basicly I would like to hear from people who tried promoting same merchant on both systems. Did you experience any EPC changes between the 2?

Even in high volume traditional programs, a large % of the traffic will be driven by few affiliates. One may have more search affiliates, vs coupon affiliates, vs blogs, etc.

Makes sence. But then we can conclude that EPC is almost not important when choosing what to promote. I mean take that fragrancex example. If you see it on SaS you would be like "oh 100$ EPC great, I will definitely try it". And if you see it on CJ you would be like "oh this offer sucks, only 10$ EPC, I won't promote it"
I think many people who base their decicion on that may fail either by not choosing good merchant just because other affiliates are not getting good EPC or vica versa.

Sort of unrelated question - whats the situation with shaving on CJ/SaS? CPA networks shave a lot, what about these 2? Or does it dpepend on merchant? I mean is that easy for merchant to shave without CJ/SaS knowing it? Whats the tracking mechanism thre?

Thanks

The networks themselves don't shave. The merchants can shave/fuck up tracking/do whatever without the network noticing, just like they can in any other network.

When you say fuck up tracking you mean sales/leads tracking? I mean can they fuck up CLICKs tracking? If they can not shave clicks its better because at least you still can have your earnings per click right helping you decide if its worth to continue promoting merchant (even they are shaving). But if they can shave clicks - thats fucked up..

No, they can't shave clicks, and you should be using your own tracking to track clicks, anyway.
