Customer Billing question (Don't know where to look online)

What service/technology is it that enables you to bill customers through their phone company?

I'm looking into using it with some of my telemarketers so prospects don't have to give us their credit cards over the phone for some of our low cost monthly services.

I've never run cellphone subscription offers so I don't know the answer to this.
 


typically if you do that you'll need to collect their social security number, a buddy of mine has to do that so if they say that it wasn't them someone just picked them out of the phone book they have that info and they can't charge back through the phone bill company.
 
Well shit, if I have to get a customers SSN over the phone I might as well ask for their cc like I always have instead, since they'll be less hesitant to give me that.

Its called Lec Billing. That bills their local telephone company. This is used to charge someone's home phone.

Getting approved is pretty tough and they do not like affiliate marketing or any type of SEO services. It took me about 5 months to get approved but its pretty awesome. You know how legit you sound saying that "we work directly with Verizon or ATT and all we need is your home phone number and it will appear on your bill. "

You don't need any info of the person. Just a phone number and name.

FYI: Its super easy to fraud out so they double verify the first 100 transactions for everyone.

Also, you must have an LLC or Corp for over a year and you must provide financial records. A lot of people used this system to slam long distance on people in the 90's so it got a bad rap from some people but its still around!

The most you can bill is like 80 bucks and they take about 15% or the first $2.50 of every transaction (for fees and chargeback protections). The min they will let you bill is around 10 bucks.
