Hey fellas, this is my situ. 9 months ago I found a high volume keyword I was really excited about and went to cop a domain, when I checked for exact matches only .us and .co were available.

I was not sure about either but atleast the .us wasn't 30 bucks so I went with the .us, 9 months later though the thing won't SERP anywhere above page 6. It's really amazing to me, I've applied DFB, Amit's SB's, UAW and rapeboxed it for months and it is as stubborn as my ex-girlfriend was about insisting on my misery.

WTF?

Have any of you guys had success SERPing a .us to the first 1 or 2 pages in a semi-competitive niche? And I've never even attempted to play with .co, is that TDL a waste (moneygrab 4 registrars) or am I missing out?

i have seen some .us in my travels online for KWs.

sounds like maybe you might have done too much too soon if its only 9 months old and you did a ton of rapebox links to it and DFB.

How was the linking structure setup?

if you are really concerned, you could try a partial EMD and add direct or store to the end of the domain or add a - to it and try all over again.

Well I started slow the first month, I DFBed and rapeboxed about 1000 links per services and then started with the other stuff after about 45 days.

was all it all to the root of the money site though?
Yeah, because it's a thin affiliate site.(other thin affiliate sites with other TLD's are serping first and second page for my term already)

I've done the same to .org's and .net's with no prob bro, thats why I'm thinking .us has something to do with it. You don't think so?

I have had success getting to page 1 with a .us - a few times (I used an exact match both times)

I am ranked #9 now for a pretty damn competitive niche (70k exact matches/month in the US).. and all I did was get the exact match .us about 6 or 7 months ago. I have been doing basically the same thing as you, but not as quickly. I only send about 2k/week.. (once a week)

To be honest I was surprised because this thing was sitting on page 10 for a while, and I kind of just let it be, and assumed that it wasn't gonna move because it was a .us

i cant say for sure if all to root or the links coming too much too soon was the reason, but im overly anal about doing things natural and thus always keep a higher ratio of links to the overall site compared to the root url and spread the link velocity out longer as well.
