Ways to get people to take action?

I typically use a lot of fear marketing on my landing pages when trying to get people to take action on the offer I have.

Now the networks I run traffic with aren't liking the approaches and they are telling people to lay off that shit or risk getting banned.

I've tried a lot of "white hat" landing page approaches to the product I am pushing and of course the results suck. The fear factor really gets people jumping through your hoops, but once no fear is involved nobody gives a fuck. Obviously it goes back to the "me me me, I don't care what your offering, because it doesn't effect me".

What can I do to replace the fear factor in my landing pages? My traffic isn't looking for my products so without the fear factor involved they could care less.

After testing a good variation of white hat landing pages im pretty much stumped and my brain is fried!

How can I get more people interested in the product without scaring the shit out of them?

so let me get this straight:

"Smoking will cause your lungs to rot out and kill you, so that's why if your'e going to smoke you should smoke e-cigs" is misleading???

The traits that cause them to take massive action and follow through.

Interview with Frank Kern and John Reese

Good interview.

I noticed the part where Frank Kern said he was more excited making his first $2500 in 5 days than making the other $18 million.

This holds true for me as well.

A year ago my only goal was to make $100 a day. When I hit $100 in one day, I was screaming and jumping and dancing. Then when I hit four figure days, it was like "meh."

I also like how he said the only thing that separates successful and unsuccessful people is certainty. If someone is absolutely certain that something is going to work, that person can make it work by forcing that thing into profitability. If someone is not too certain and thinks "maybe" this can work, that person will try once, fail, and give up forever.

I've actually found that threating to hurt their family is the best way to get action. Works for me, but I guess everyones different too.

Fear is a very serious human motivator... I don't see why you can't use it... Misleading is another issue entirely... you just need to invoke fear while stating the truth... and if your advertiser feels differently, then perhaps it's time to find a new network?

OP -

try another motivating emotion: greed

also - why are you showing the network your LPs?

Do yourself a favor, read cashvertising, you're only using ONE of the LF8 (fear), all others are just as powerful, some more so than fear. Desire, vanity, success, caring for safety/well being of others (family etc), necessity, here read this it's the first 30 or so pages and it goes through the LF8 Cashvertising (safe link boys no worries) go to page 21 (or read it all it's brill).

Thank you for all the suggestions! I totally forgot about cashvertising. I actually have the book and a couple other ones. I guess its time to refresh myself with them. I feel kind of stupid because all the information I need, I already have with me. I guess after so many failed attempts your mind kind of goes blank wondering what the hell your doing wrong.

After reading the advice in this thread and thinking back to the books i've read I already know what im doing wrong. I think what I wanted out of this thread was a little kick start in my confidence tank.

He is probably talking about something like.

Error 404
SHIT, YOUR COMPUTER GOT VIRUS/SPYWARE, DOWNLOAD XXX TO SCAN FOR FREE

now, that's misleading

acai dont cure cancer, son

lol, No it wasn't anything like that. I guess the page was kind of misleading I can see where I might of crossed the line and they jumped on my ass just to make sure I got the message they didn't like where it was going.

Btw its a traffic network not an affiliate network. One thing that pisses me off is Awhile ago I got some of my campaigns suspended because a rule I didn't see. No problem, but to this day I still see people using this trick that got some of my campaigns suspended. And I see these ads everyday. I even ratted one of them out because I was so pissed that the network singled me out when i've seen the same ad running with the violation for more than a month and its still running! Not to mention other people are doing it.

Anyway rant over. Can someone give me an example of what a clean misleading free fear marketing approach would be?

ex. your grandma just fell down the stairs. You should of gotten life alert!

This happens across the board. Large accounts have more clout.
