Fact or Myth: Xrumer Links Pointed to your site - Case Study

I've got some clients who have used onthewayup's services and shared the results with me, what he does definitely works really well in some niches.

On topic, I know hitting new sites directly with xrumer works, if you do it smartly. Now plz kill thread. ;)

He has considerably changed his service since being burnt shitless on another forum. I'm purely commenting on how he has operated in the past.

Dude, give it a rest. If your goal is to try and falsify my name on here, it's not working. You've been offered the $20 refund. You've been offered the blog posting service again. You've been told what happened, how it happened, and when it happened. On top of all of that, your rankings didn't drop, your site wasn't deindexed, and frankly, you look like an ass right now for coming back 9 months later to try and slander my name of $20.00. No one was burnt, and none of my past clients are complaining except you - I even still work with many of them.

Yea, just checked the rankings, currently I'm sitting at 62 now.

Seems like this shit is working.. I just sent 500 Xrumer to my 5 day old site after getting inspired by your case study. It's ranking no where for now. Will wait for around a week before doing any other SEO to check if I see any improvements for this blast.

the blog posting had no relation to this kw, and I made sure to pick a kw that hadn't moved since the site was live - that includes the results from the blog package i ordered for 3 completely different kws, which moved up, while this one remain the same. No link building has been done for this kw.

Further more, if the myth was true, then it would actually bring the rankings down, not up.

Onthewayup,

Did you do any link building within the last couple weeks prior to doing this study on any keyword, period? Knowing that would put a few of the comments in perspective since it usually takes a couple weeks to see a change's (onsite or offsite) effectiveness.

It'd help to know if a link building campaign on a related keyword is affecting the rankings of the one you're targeting for the study.

I subscribed to this thread when it first opened and now I have 10,000 emails in my inbox of people bitching at each other.

I only set subscriptions to send a consolidated list once a day. ;) This is why.

You just keep coming back dont you like a bad smell?

Listen I feel bad so Im gonna give youa few tips.

Might be an idea that if you're providing a service posting links on a blog network, that the network at least belongs to you.

Also an idea, when advertising a service for creating web 2.0 links, don't make posts asking where to find these links. Makes you look like a bit of an arse.

Hey, I did do work on other keywords, but within that period of time, this keyword hadn't moved one bit, but all the ones I was working on had. This kw has been stuck in the same position ever since the site went up (until now). I had seen changes to the other keywords way before I sent the profile blast to this kw.

I do see your point though. Keep in mind that the case study is really about the fact that pointing xrumer links to your site would harm the site, and what makes this case more of a decent study is the fact that it's only 1 month old.

onthewayup, do you do any other work on this site? like putting any content on it or anything?

I put a blog up on the site, but I only put up one article so far. I've been building another site, so haven't really had the time to put anything up on the blog. As far as other content, I haven't put anything else up there.

I had another business card site before I sold it, and at the time it was on the first page for business cards, and I didn't put much content on the site either.

I'm wondering how the changes to google will effect the site if I don't keep it updated - at least the blog. All the sites I've owned have been niche news sites that were updated multiple times a day.

It also seems like this kw may not move any higher, but I'll keep a check on it for at least 2 weeks, and make sure not to point any other backlinks directly to this kw. I'm wondering if it will drop in the mean time (dropped 3 spots today).
