I don't like any non- .com's. So spending $40 on a .tv is not something I'm willing to do. However, for people that like oddball TLD's or want As.Seen-On.TV, it would be good. Since, AsSeenOnTv.com and As-Seen-On-TV.com is taken.

Or you could just buy it and lease it out or sell it..

Hmm... I wonder about this "no changing the creatives" as well.

My point on this is that they are loosing out on a lot of creativity in this webmaster community. Let the guys and gals create all the creative they want and then use what works best to improve the in-house creative material.

Their loss, I'd say.

The only creatives they have are banners. I think they are just saying "Don't fuck with the banners." They're not saying "Don't create landing pages that pimp our products".

Maybe one of the Sylmark people should chime in here. Could be helpful to get clarification.
 
cause some of the landing pages they give us to use are direct to the order forms. can we modify them to go to their homepage instead?

Nice contest...I think this is going to be a challenge since I haven't run anything yet with these types of restrictions.

I will plan everything out tonight and see if I can't make anything. :p

Well, the first part I would change is the landing page, why would I possibly send them traffic with a leak that big (top of the page, 1800-FUCKTHEAFFILIATE).

No way I will send traffic that I can't directly monetize.
 
Joel is away until Wed, so I'll force his ass into this thread tomorrow to answer your questions. I highly doubt you guys will not be allowed to get creative. I think the rules on there are mostly for your avg affiliate who think banners are the only form of getting traffic interest. Remember, they make 99% of their cash from TV, not internet. But are willing to change for us.

If they remove the leaks from the landing pages they provide or give us a way to deep link into the order-form with no-leaks ( remove the 1800-FUCKTHEAFFILIATE ), I'm in.

So basically either bypassing their landing page directly to the order form or customize their landing page with zero leaks.

And clarify they we don't loose commissions for doing our own creative.

Not sure if it is cost-effective, but would they supply creative and campaign information?
 
I also noticed their online distributors are selling some of the exact same products for $10-$20 less. Hard to stay competitive.
 
Jon, please don't tell me this is a sham. These guys aren't exactly batting a 1000 here.

The other thing I noticed is that when signing up, there registeration page wasn't even secure. I would hate to have given my social security number over a unsecure page.
