Tell Me Where to Temporarily Move

I was thinking about this same thing driving home just now. Executive rentals are cool because they usually come furnished, don't require a very long lease and you're allowed to do business there.

What do you like to do? What is your price range for renting and cost of living? What kind of weather is appealing to your tastes, do you not mind the cold?

This is decent summary of good places to live Top 29: Best Cities To Live In - 2010 Edition - AskMen

Move to L.A bro (Be sure live with a gay guy in the "hood". You know, just for the experience)

California of course, what is there to think about?

This is where it's at brah

Bay Area FTW

You can meet plenty of like minded people, there are many interesting start-ups, the weather is beautiful, ocean etc. etc.

I'm doing something similar except going overseas (originally from Australia). Plan is to hit up America first to visit one of my brothers (DC and NYC for one brother and his fiancee) then go to grenada to visit the other one.

Then I'll either go to south america or south east asia. Probably going to go to south east asia and set up a base in Thailand - that way friends and family can visit easily and cheaply.

Sounds like a good plan but if I was you, why not leave America?

Definitely think about going international as a couple of others have said.

I'm in Bali right now although I'm spending quite a bit on credit for mobile broadband, the service is decent enough to use. The rest of the benefits of being here definitely make up for it compared to the misery of England anyway.

I spent 9 months in Thailand last year and that's a whole different story. Comparable lifestyle to Bali depending on what you're into and 4meg internet is easy to get hold of and really cheap too as long as you're not out in the wilderness.

the tv show the first 48 makes miami look like the scariest place on earth
I've never been to a more piece of shit place than Miami. Walk one block outside the tourist areas and it's disgusting. Forget the first 48 making it look scary, just watch 30 minutes of the local news.

Been to Miami 4 times for business. Three of those times, there was a fatal shooting while I was there.

Bay area...Like Minded...LOLZ

Gay Webmaster indeed.

"This" is where it's at? I thought you were a Canadian Saunaboy?

Miami Beach until the rest of America warms up.

You won't have more fun anywhere else in America. If I described some of the situations I've been in after the sun's gone down you would think I was reading a page out of Penthouse letters.

Then when it warms up: anywhere else in America, since Miami will feel like the hottest spot on Earth.

FYI bmorecali & jmizzle: Miami Beach > Miami... Two different towns and cultures.

Speaking of International travel...

I gotta say, if you like to smoke really good weed (and who amongst us dosen't from time to time) Amsterdam is the fuckin joint :pimp:.

It's sooo chill to be relaxing in a coffee shop smoking a fattie and watching the local 5-0 ride past on their little bicycles.

Place is clean and everyone speaks English.

Hey you high and horny? ... its a short walk to the red light district where the girls are on display for some legal sexcapades.

If I wasn't married at the time I went, I'd still be there -- and that was like 10 years ago.

Shits gotta entertain you for at least a month.

If I was lease jump for 3 months at a time... San Diego is a great place this time of the year, then I'd go up to San Francisco to do some networking, then Colorado, Seattle or Chicago for a few months while they are still warm, then down to Texas for a bit of partying, then over to Miami so you can experience how divorced dudes live over there, then I'd spend a few months over in Nevada.

No offence to the Aussies, but I can't believe Melbourne is voted the 2nd best City to live in over the 5th placed London. Unless fuckin cyclones and killer spiders are your thing.

Melbourne is a shithole. Brisbane is fucking awesome, just gotta wait a year for it to rebuild a bit.

Edit: And that list gave Chicago a 6.6 for weather... And it rates LA #12 and 7/10 for fresh air?!?!?!
