I am not a fan of animal activism but cummon, Africa doesn't have enough gamekeepers or people handy with a gun to kill their own nuisance animals? They got on the bat-phone and called the great white hunter who came all the way from America to vanquish their wicked beasts for them?
He went over there to participate in a disgusting blood sport and then try to distort it to seem like he was doing them a favor. When he was packing his bags to get on his flight over do you think he was saying "hmm I am going to do so much good over there protecting farmers crops", not likely, more like "gonna shoot me some fucking animals yeah-hawwww".
The killing of the elephant may or may not be justified, but the intent of that man is totally clear and he is a bare faced (and obvious) liar for trying to say otherwise

Endangered or not what he did was participating in a bloodsport (as opposed to being someone who culls for a living). Whether you think its right or wrong that is the fact. And he just outed himself to the millions of animal lovers out there of which there are many who are shit-nuts and will probably make his life a living hell. Daddy-Gone!
If you read the Time article, there are other much more effective ways to ward off the elephants from eating crops, ways that work long term rather than shooting an animal whose numbers are dwindling and is classified as "vulnerable." I don't think he's stupid enough to honestly believe that the elephants won't come back eventually, he's trying to act like this fucking pariah saving this village, but really he's just compensating for his small dick by trying to act macho and shooting an elephant.

This was a stupid move, but pretty much a golden opportunity for any other domain registrar to work this in their favor. All any of these registrars need is someone who understands public relations. This was laid out on a silver platter for NameCheap.
Call it what you want.....call people hypocrites because they eat meat yet are upset by this etc etc.

As someone else said, the entire PR department must have been on vacation or are purely useless.
The smug look and rambo-esque attire Parsons has on shows he was in it for the slaughter, not to provide a service.
The playing of "Hells Bells" in the background while he shoots the elephant and the villagers hack it apart...is classless to say the least.
If this was purely an issue about saving the crops....why not use the wealth of money he has to build a god damn fence around the crops? And buy the villagers some actual meat...and enough meat to go around?

I didn't mean it to come off as race thing, more of a rich westerner going over to Africa to bag big game and gloat about it all puffed up on his pride and joy photo like he is some big man for shooting an animal.
It's not a race thing, it's a hypocracy thing.
There's nothing wrong with hunting animals as long as you eat what you kill. It's the people that just let the carcases sit there after they kill the animals, or just to stuff them, that bother me.
Learn how to shoot a bow, stalk and kill the animal, and then skin and pull out the meat, and you'll see that it is a sport.
There are 2+ sides to every story. That said, I loathe GoDaddy and will happily hop on this bandwagon if it means punishing them for being a pile of bullshit. Now transferring 2 out of my last 3 domains still with them. Website is being super slow though, haha.
What difference does it make if you eat the animal or not? You didn't kill it because you were hungry, you killed it for fun (or sport or whatever you want to call it). Eat it, leave it or fuck it's dead carcass, it doesn't make a blind bit of difference to anyone or anything, certainly not the animal as it is dead.
If people want to hunt animals its up to them, I don't really care, but if you're going to do it you should at least have the balls to call it what it is and not try to justify it by any other means (culling, food etc.).
Gotta say, this was a stupid idea and bad move on GoDaddy's part, people aren't giving enough credit to Namecheap shamelessly exploiting the situation for their personal benefit.
