Finding a Niche

I've been thinking and looking for a good niche. Not for an affiliate product to market ... just a niche that isn't over saturated. I have a theory that if I find a niche in which the majority of existing competitors don't offer an affiliate program, it may be a signal that the space is not too competitive. Its difficult to seperate the wheat from teh chaffe though - it might also just signal that there isn't a lot of opportunity in the space.

Anyone have any thoughts/advice on this?

I think wheat is a good niche honestly. Chaffe isn't a bad niche either though.

You're gunna have to wait until Google releases the next batch of niches.

All the ones released in January are taken.

Next release is July in case you were wondering.

LOL, you want to go into a niche where there are already products and affilaites. If there is noone selling anything, there is no market = no money. The guy in the video above has more brains than you.

Wow - you guys are really helpful! :(

Perhaps what I'm saying is not immediately obvious so let me build a bridge for you:

If all a person has to do is click the "affiliates" link at the bottom of every brand's website in a vertical, then competition will be high and margin compression for affiliates will be even higher. If you find something where a person has to do a little more work to establish relationships and sourcing to enter a vertical, competition will be lower.

Does anyone care to honestly discuss this with me, or is everyone too busy looking for bullshit videos and clever jokes? Am I in the wrong place for this kind of stuff? I feel like I walked into a college dorm and ya'll are too busy drinking beer to think about the exam tomorrow.

You come into a community and, with no history of contributions to the community, demand a response to your assertion that clearly stems from a lack of attempt and more from what probably is perpetual pre-try masturbation, which is something we see nauseatingly often, but often entertain anyways.

WickedFire isn't your personal panel of experts for which to validate your hunches and suspicions. If you actually explore the community, you'll find generous dissemination of knowledge that's downright altruistic. Since it's not happening so far for you in this thread, maybe the real problem is your failure to compel a community of brilliant internet wizards to provide you with what you'd consider valuable feedback.

Which isn't even true, because the first reply already gave you all the information you need:

Chianti said:

In other words, quit fucking around, quit looking to validate your Nancy Drew intuitions on how things might work out there, and instead build an intuition by trying something now. As Chianti's eloquent gif points out, no matter how much you try to prepare yourself, the tuition of real education starts billing you at the start of your first inevitable failure.

OP because you have been so generous on this forum I will share some of my golden niches. I am certain after you find some niches yourself that work well for you, you will jump to share them here on this public forum as well.

Here's some that have done well for me:

Transvestite fashion consulting
Fish washing
Amish electronic supplies
Ass to Face Transplant Lead-Generation

I have also recently been venturing into affiliating for Ali G's Ice Cream Glove. Sales have been spectacular, I think there is room for everyone for this one.

HAHAHAHHA.....I was looking for this video a while back and couldn't remember the name.. it's as if george st pierre jumped into this guy's body and started ranting about internet marketing, lol

Haha, he still makes videos and his english has improved quite a bit.

> "demand a response to your assertion "

I did not demand anything except that people stop flaming my post. Seriously, I tried to ask an honest question and start a conversation and it was hijacked by shit!

Fine - clearly not the right forum for me. I'm out. You guys SUCK!
