Why hasn't my site settled down in Google yet?

It's been 8 days since I started my site (not date of domain registration, but when I had my site set up and started building links). My site is still no where to be found in Google, sometimes showing up in the 200's. Is it normal to take this long for Google to analyze my site and plop me in the serp's? Usually with my past sites, the process was sooner than this time around.

I haven't seen any threads like these, plus it's in the newbie section so you should expect these kind of threads. Do you care that much about your post count?

It takes time. How much? Nobody knows. Just hold tight and distract yourself with other projects. Keep building links.

If you said your site sometimes appears in the 200's then that probably means google doesn't like it much. Is it an exact match domain for a really long tail keyword? Google softened the bonus to that recently, dunno by how much. Most of my attempts at a long tail keyword site met with instafailure. You can try adding some more content if your site appears paper thin. Keep track of your serps, add content, add some links. See if there is a significant improvement after a couple weeks. If not might wanna try another site.

It was pretty significant.
I had a few dozen long tail domain names that instead of parking got 20$ mini sites on them + a few blog comments. Almost all of them were first page a few months back. Now most are 3/4.

Edit.
In ops situation its prolly not that though. Just add content for a few weeks and integrate a twitter account. Unless you are in some competitive field that's usually enough for the first few pages.

Have patience, just build more and moe quality links and the Big G will reward you. I would start worrying only after it continues for more than a month.

takes longer then 8 days, just keeping building and don't wait around for the results...

build build build n they will come :banana_sml:

Do you have any clue on the amount of new websites that get introduced everyday? More that a few that's for sure, lol. In all seriousness OP, just keep doing what you are doing. They don't call linkbuilding the fast way to riches, so have a little faith in the algo.
