The networks I work with that I'm comfortable showing them all of my referral info are also the ones that are comfortable with me when I cloak my shit anyways. Funny how that works.
.We typically don't ask (or care) what our affiliate referring URLs are, as long as they are promoting our offers compliantly. There are, however, some instances where our advertisers REQUIRE us to show them our affiliate referring URLs - basically to ensure a pub doesn't run, say for an example, an education offer on porn sites.
First, attempt to find the offer on other networks then run it there as well. See what these other networks say. If quality is good and terms are better, ditch original network. They'll come crying when your traffic stops. THEN, I would try to reach a advertiser manager if possible at the original network and have them verify lead quality back to you. Doing so, you should be able to see who the greedy bastard is. Ignore this person.
Is there any alternative to document for them where your traffic is coming from without referrals? Depending on the traffic type, there might be.
I used to ask for referrals in some cases to verify traffic sources. It wasn't a big deal. In some cases, where people had been burned and were wary, 9 times out of 10 we would come up with some workable solution.
The whole trust is a 2-way street, isn't just a cliche. If you don't trust them enough to share some referrals without getting your traffic jacked, I'd find another source for your offers. Why fill the pockets of that some network you can't trust. There are good ones out there.
*Not saying Unique isn't trustworthy, just saying do business with people you trust. And don't be paranoid once you find those partnerships where trust exists.

Thanks for all the replies. Bottom line is that Unique Leads is aware that I run EDU offers and own/operate multiple domestic EDU call centers. That's how we got in touch in the first place. The offer was an older EDU offer that was out in this space awhile back and I haven't seen it ANYWHERE else - Education Connection offer by EDU Dynamics. I used to run huge traffic to it back in the day and they just got this offer. Needless to say, I was intrigued and I started to send a VERY SMALL amount of traffic to it. Nonetheless, the traffic source I had started sending some porn traffic so I quickly stopped traffic before they even said anything about it. Next day, I get an email requesting all referrers to be shown, as this is a requirement on all offers on their network (and furthermore, on every network so she says).
I don't mind at all showing my referrers to the bigger networks like Maxbounty, CPATrend (only b/c I like Phil and trust this sweet man), W4, etc. If they request to see them, by all means. I have a great relationship with everyone there, but when a new network states that EVERY NETWORK THEY WORK WITH requires open referrers, that's just ignorance and shows an extreme lack of knowledge in the space.
Regardless, the offer is not worth me showing my traffic sources so I have just stopped sending traffic to them in the first place. EDU is going down hill - good thing I have my own offer to run my own traffic to and I don't give a shit if I leak the referrer.

Everything makes much more sense now... EDU deals are HARD to sustain the way it is, but you start sending junk porn traffic to them, you risk losing the deal for their entire network. WF really isn't the place to bitch about this (nor is any public forum).
