They are coming from forum profiles, the domains do contain international extensions.
Not sure about adult websites, there might be a few but I've never noticed any while spot checking.

Quick update: Ordered this a few days ago, as well as Swinny's blog comments and did one run through AMR - went from #18 to #2 on the main target for a little 6 page MFA site. (for anyone who's curious, seomoz kw difficulty is listed as 51%, and fitness magazine and livestrong.com occupy some of the top spots)

Thanks for the mini review and sharing what you did to get your results. I've also had success with pointing some extra links (blog comments/profiles) to the AMR autoapproved articles - seems to help them get indexed a little bit better and gives them some link juice.
