i seriously think i need to start renting an office because i am so distracted whenever i work from home.. you know surfing aimlessly... watching porn.. jacking off.. and not getting any shit done..

Start off heading to the coffee shop with your laptop, or a public library.
If you notice you can focus more and get more done, then having an office you can go to daily might work.
If you still find yourself surfing aimlessly and procrastinating, then you pretty much know that the issue resides in you and that having an office WONT help. If you still jack off even though you are at a coffee shop or in the library, then you may have even bigger issues to deal with.

well i can get shared office space at regus... i don't think i will jack off in front of others...
when i was in corporate life, i could code 2-3x faster than my colleagues.. finished tasks ahead of deadlines... but when i am working from home, i seem to lose all the disciplines i once had in corporate life...
I HATE working at home. If not an office, basically anywhere public like a local coffee shop makes me insanely more productive.
I rented an office from Regus once, but it only lasted a month. I had it, but never bothered going to it. I'd wake up in the morning, and think to myself, "why the hell would I get showered and dressed, then go all the way into town, when I can just walk 10 feet in my own home?"
After the first month, I realized the office was totally useless for me, and that was that. I do like working from coffee shops, pubs, etc. though. Need a constant change of environment. Helps the mind stay energized.

I have a pretty ghetto office out in the yard for when I'm doing content writing. I got the idea from some stuff I used to do when I was in college. Sometimes I'll use my laptop and a drop cord though. Shown here in this picture below is my AlphaSmart Dana, best $35 I ever spent. I use it as a basic portable word processor instead of carrying my laptop around, which just keeps me distracted.

Babies and babysitters do lower productivity when the entire house is a huge mess, noises all day long.

I'm seriously thinking about renting an office too, but not for the same reasons as you... I can see myself slowly deteriorating since I started working from home. I think that having to leave the house every day to "go to work" is a good thing. Working from home makes you lazy, unsociable, plus you don't shave, don't feel the need to buy new clothes and become an overall dirtbag. (sure there are exceptions, but I find that 90% I know that work from home are in the same situation)

I had a couple different offices (cheap ones) Its just not working out. I think I conditioned myself to work from home over the years. Nothing else is as productive. When you outsource everything and dont need employees, home is fine. When you get to Baller Status, buy a commercial space, charge yourself high rent, pay it off, profit.

running senuke of my powerful ex gaming rig at how with 4 instances of different vmware running at the same time means I seldom can take a break away from the comp. When i need to do creative stuff like writing content, i ususally turn off and go to the local cafe... But then being in the cafe, you can't have the super fast internet like you do at home, you can't work in your underwear, you can even take your shoes off and rest it on another chair. You can't even pick your nose. There are so many drawbacks to coffee shops.

Was looking at one of these. Office on bottom, townhome on top. Rent out bottom and work/chill on top. I do have a family so this wouldn't work for them, but I'd love to have my little man cave.
