Official GOP debate thread

What is this bullshit about a wall at the mexico border being an unrealistic idea? (It would be mostly be a fence, btw, as the israeli "wall" is too.) The length of the US mexican border is 2000km the length of the israeli wall will be 760km when finished. Let's compare some ratios:

US border vs Israeli border length: 2000/760=2.63
US GDP vs Israeli GDP (billions): 14k/200=72.68
US population vs Israeli population: 309/7.28=42.4
US defense spending vs Israeli defense spending (billions): 500/10=49.15

The argument that the projects impossible is the kind of pernicious quasi rational crap the MSN feeds people. The iranians are building a 800km long wall. (To keep out drug smugglers, terrorists and illegal immigrants from pakistan.)

It's a ludicrous argument, yet I've constantly heard it. The communists are literally terrified of a wall being built, as it would completely destroy their plans.

Here's what it's really supposed to look like:

Ron Paul: 32302
Mitt Romney: 13259
Rick Perry: 10264
Jon Huntsman: 4998
Newt Gingrich: 2780
Herman Cain: 1986
Michele Bachmann: 1701
Rick Santorum: 800

Total : 68090

lol a wall is a joke. Any conservative who purports to be pro-free trade, yet wants a wall, is an idiot. The only reason the border is an issue is the drug cartels, which could be disabled very easily..

Btw Reagan granted amnesty to millions of illegals. Does that mean we should grant amnesty again? Reagan is not the GOP savior.

How about perry being a confrontational douchenozzle and going after Paul during the commercial break?

I missed the debate. You would think from the media today, it was only Perry and Romney up there. Of course. Any polls out this morning yet?

Edit: Saw this:

However, nearly 70,000 cast their votes on MSNBC’s website following the contest. Nearly half of those participating a thumbs up to Rep. Ron Paul. Romney and Perry took second and third respectively.
Paul polled 47%, Romney 19.4% and Perry 15.1%.

http://www.huntingtonnews.net/9088 but no link to the actual MSNBC poll it's self?

That can't possibly be... Everyone is saying "Paul's Unelectable!"

Surely someone has run with this story today? Alex Jones at least? :anon.sml:

The word on Perry is that he likes to "play cowboy" and usually wins debates (though even his supporters concede he is unexciting). Oh, and he has good hair:

For fun, Google "Governor good hair" and check out Perry's wiki in 2nd place. lol at voters

I was just about to post this.

Also, I would love to see a breakdown in minutes of the time each candidate actually got to speak. It seems that Paul would be on the very bottom, and the only questions directed at him were aimed to make him look extreme. MSNBC did a very poor job with this debate.

I agree with you, but I think it's almost a good thing because as Ron Paul gets more popular (and regardless of of whether or not he wins the GOP nomination he's gaining popularity rapidly) the more unprofessional the MSM looks.

“First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.” - Gandhi.

Seems as though we're making good progress here.

Looks like Perry may be the guy that tries to go head to head with him.

But because RP is against it, his acolytes are against it, and so the charade continues...

Are you aware of your guy Rick Perry's position on the issue?
