I have been lurking around these forums for some time now, just reading & learning.

Yesterday I decided to finally publish my first adsense website. Once I had got online I was switching back & forth between the actual online page & my offline website editor & I accidentally clicked an advertisment on my own website.

Will Google get pissed at me? have I commited click fraud? will I get banned? or am I just worrying about nothing?

IMO sending email to google is not a good idea. This will just create an alarm there. One accidental click will go unnoticed ( most probably).
But to be honest Google can send a warning or can ban you for this. The best you can do is wait and watch.

A girl I saw once clicked one of my ads at my home. I know, fuck her, but never let her get near your ads ;)

Anyway, I mailed Google saying I was most sorry and they send me back a copy-paste email saying that I wasn't allowed to click my own ads. I cant remember if they took the money from that click or not. Haven't heard anything about it since.

Yup, you hurt Google's feelings. They're crying right now, go give 'em a hug. Drama queen...or maybe drag queen.

Anyway, it doesn't matter for shit. Usually, they already know anyway and it will show the actual click in your AdSense stats, but no $$ for it.

They might filter out clicks from the IP you log into your AdSense account, or something like that.

OMG with 1 click you are soo banned off adsense. Lol no worry mate i clicked last month at least 10 times by mistake ( damn touchpad ) while i was setuping adsense on my sites and now i am still rolling . So with 1 click you won't get noticed.

Good luck

damn, just happened to me as well
I was trying to highlight the url of an advertiser to see the page :|
isn't there a way to release the mouse button without actually making the click?
I moved the mouse outside the browser window but the click was done...

There are far greater things you could have done. I was expecting to see this thread more read like you drained your bank account without setting any limits!

Welcome to the world of AdSense!

Lmao that would suck. It would be so easy to type 1000 instead of 100 though. I don't know why G doesn't do a double confirmation thing.

One click => one kill. You're going down man! Google has already dispatched the evil elves of doom to your house. They'll start by burning it down, then drowning your cat in a vat of butter. Then, when the ashes of your burnt out shell of a home are cool and your cat is stiff with rigor mortis, the evil elves of doom will hand you a letter declaring that you are banned from Adsense forever!

muuaaahhhahahahhahaa!

Hahaha. I do that all the time.

Also, SEO_Mike... a little dramatic there, but not too far off from the truth. :D
