Just thought I'd share, not selling anything so I'll cut to the chase and get straight to the techniques. Before I do that here's a brief overview of the keyword and the kind of competition we're looking to beat.

This keyword gets 40k Local Exact Searches, CPC is $1+ with moderate commercial intent. Here's the MS Top 10 analysis of the keyword, my site's ranking #1 at the moment. ;)

Day 1: Buy a 2 y/o+ PR4 domain, and 301 to my site. Ordered SGW to the aged domain. Make sure you 301.

At the same time I bought a lot of social signals, FB likes, Google plusses etc, mainly just did this so I sleep better at night. Really hate it when my site dances.

Day 2: Bought SBBomb drip fed + lindexed.

Day 3 and 4: Drip feed high PR blog posts. ALN network + some other private network. There are a bunch of people that offer this make sure you don't buy from newbs. BMR is good but the cost is too high so I skipped this.

Day 5: Play the waiting game. Bought some more social bookmarking services that cover sites SBBomb didn't.

Day 14: I'm at #1.

Summary: You need a combination of all but profile links and blog comment links are pretty much dead in the water so it's safe to not waste anytime with this. SGW got me to first page but High PR blog posts + Social Bookmark got me to #4 -> #2 and today #1. Throughout my campaign my site has ALWAYS stayed on Page 1. Never danced.

As for content: 1000 words UNIQUE quality content and about 10 pages of that. I have the keyword in Title, URL, Desc and H1 tag and didn't care about keyword density. I also link to Wiki sites on my main page to add legitimacy through association. Have a few YouTube videos as well.

Good luck!

Nice work! and thanks for the share.

Now let's see how long you'll stay there for. Please report back in 4-6 weeks. (still enough time to monetize for your expenses).

A promo for SGW? lol.. And why is this is STS?

Anyhow, looks like its the links to the 301'd domain that did the trick since blasting stuff like SGW on a fairly new site (I'll assume yours is) will not work.

Also, the #1 domain from the screenshot fits the description of the 301'd domain you bough. Did that domain rank instead of the one you redirected it to?

No, my new domain got a PR4 after just 2-3 weeks (I was surprised too). The domain age displayed by MS is inaccurate because it's based on Archive.org not the WHOIS record. My old aged domain lost it's PR though, which was expected.

So you made a completely new site, bought a 2 y/o+ PR4 site and redirected it to your completely new site, and then blasted the bought PR4 site with SGW? Correct me if I'm wrong.

You're correct.

Do you honestly believe its going to stay there? lol

Yes if I keep building links. The ALN and high pr blogposts are dripped daily on subscription payment. Should be enough to maintain my ranking there.

SEO is a marathon, I get it.
