All jokes aside, good call Jon on bringing on a new CEO. Are you still looking at your exclusive affiliate network as part of your revenue model?
That is completely seperate from WF. We're not going to make it public, going to keep it private and more of a "wholesale" type of model instead. But WickedFire comes first, so I'm not even going to take that project off the back burner until everything with WF is sorted and on a solid track again.
I realized a few months ago that I didn't want to be the CEO of the company anymore. I asked Brandon if he wanted it, and he said "no way". What it comes down to is doing a job you are good at and passionate about. If you don't like doing it, you won't be good at it. There's only so much I can do for WF, I sure as hell can't do all of it anymore. I would much rather handle the stuff I like, and get back to giving out tips and advice. I'm also a lot better at marketing/advertising and networking.
I'll admit, when WF first took off, I was basking in the spotlight of that web-celeb fame it came with, and it was fun, but it wasn't what I wanted. If I could do it all over again, I'd probably hire someone else from the beginning to be the CEO of the company, and take things one project/goal at a time instead of a billion things at once. Fame and power can get to your head and SERIOUSLY effect your judgement, many times in the wrong direction. I've learned that the hard way, and I'm sick of underperforming and not producing or dropping the ball all the time. I need help, and it would be an absolute blessing to get someone with the drive, passion and expertise to come on board and handle things. Brandon and I will still keep our positions as "managing partners" but we both know what we want to do, and what we don't want to do, and now that it's fairly public, maybe more people will see how tough running a forum of this magnitude and potential can be.
You need to be tough as nails to handle this crowd, and you can't take anything personally either. People are very vocal and upfront here, and if you fuck up, not only will they let you know, but they won't let it go until you make good tenfold. But that's also why WF rocks.
I have a whole galaxy of ideas for growth, and all of it keeps WF free for the users. The problem though is that if I take that on, then it leaves less time and focus for other, more important issues on here. So yeah, time for a change, and so far I've spoken to only 1 guy I am confident that can handle it, but he's thinking about it. So we'll see what happens.
