First I'd like to introduce myself to WF and I'm enjoying the information that this forum has to offer. As I've searched through many of the threads here I've noticed many different ways of approaching internet marketing. But where is the best place to start? There are so many affiliate programs out there I don't know which one to choose. I've also read about blogging and I thought of starting in that area. I could definitely use the right guidance. I wouldn't want to be wasting money on a product that is going to make me nothing.
Thanks a ton for everyones replies

Contrast that with the majority of people on here who enjoy wasting their time money and effort on fruitless projects!

Start by reading this forum, the stickies, the referred blog postings, other blogs, other forums, other websites. etc. etc.

I guess most of this is just learning from experiences right. We obviously have to take risks in the world of marketing and what's working for somebody may not work for someone else. I mean do a lot of those e-books people release for a quick buck or do they really have good information? There are just so many scams in marketing today you don't know what to believe so it becomes quite confusing

I was just joking dude. Don't do ringtones or mortgages until you have some idea of what you're doing.

You hit the nail on the head. This is a business like anything else. You have to get out their and take chances. You have to come up some idea, whether you beg, borrow or steal. But you gotta be in there fighting, taking chances. I just finished looking at a blog of a kid that is 14 years old who has been blogging since Feb 07 and he is tearing things up. so you have to just work at it.

barman you had me going there for a bit but confused me because the two are very competitive markets. I guess it's easier to trick noobs like me but i admit very funny:D

Hey, I'm a noob too so you can trust me right?

How I found very nice paying niches for adsence:

Go to Google.

Type in some shit.

Scroll down the sponsers on the right. Then hit "more sponsors results" or some shit.
Keep hitting next page.

When the page ends, count that as your score.

So: 15 pages of sponsored results means pretty good $/click.

after 15 pages or so it doesn't really matter (forex has over 50)

if your keywords only hit 1 or 2 pages of results, you're not goint to get very good $/click. But don't get totally bummed cause adsense seems to suprise you in both a positive and nevative way.

I've had good luck at this, go with your gut thought. If you think it's a good niche, try typing different relevant keywords, you might get 2 pages one time , then 15 another with a slight change in keywords.

I'm quite intoxicated right now, so this might not make as much sense as I intended it to.

Good luck

Start of in REALLY specific niches. That is the absolute best advice. Build up a huge network based on a specific niche to gain broader knowledge.
