I know there are a ton of threads like this and I'll be told to keep putting up content and keep linking. I have been. I have an emd blog that was up to page 10 out of the gate. SerpIq says my competition is low. I put up content every 4-5 days. I use Scrapebox to find PR 4+ WordPress blogs to hand comment...probably <10 a day. When I do site:mysite.com it's listed. There are no messages in the webmaster Google tools that I have linked to it

I can only think of two things that I did to piss them off:
1. A month in I blasted 800 comments...only 15 got approved though.
2. When I first hand commented blogs, my anchors were fake names and not my site name or keywords. So some backlinks anchors are random names.

Think either of these would get my homepage not even in the top 200? What else should I try? Thanks.

2012
expecting your site to rank magically
I shiggy diggy

I can assure you your site did not get penalized from 15 blog comments.

I dunno about 'magically', but I have been adding content and linking. It is my first attempt at a money site. Maybe I just suck at this.

Well I'm just saying that building links with names for anchors isn't telling Google what your site is about. You're kind of expecting Google to just "magically" figure out that your site should rank for [keyword] without building links with that anchor text.

Which, I mean, if you have a site like WIKIPEDIA, then you don't really need to. But you're not Wikipedia, so you gotta shove that keyword anchor text dick down Google's throat and force them to know (or believe) your site should rank for your keywords.

By the way you don't suck. Just keep at it.

Seriously. Don't give up. 6 months ago I was so far off the mark that I can't help but look back and laugh. 6 months from now now you'll be in the same position if you just keep trying. Tbh I can't believe anyone ever gives up at this, unless they are seriously so fucking retarded that they can't learn from their mistakes and failures.

If you ever have any questions just PM me. I'm no SEO GURU but I can try to help at least. I'd say add me on Skype but I'm never on.

Thanks for the replies. I think I might be sandboxed, but not deindexed. I'm roughly in 20th place in other search engines, but no where in Google. I have no messages in GWT, but submitted a request to reevaluate my site.
There is one site sending 800 links to me from one blog comment I made (I only have 40 other links). Maybe that set of a flag. Don't know how it happened. There is a "recent comments" widget on his site...maybe when Google crawled his pages they all had me in that widget?

Gonna keep adding content and manually linking. Is backlinking to a sandboxed site even worth it or should I wait?

im pretty new around here an just learning seo my self.... but, cooch, 3 weeks is no where near enough time to judge your site or any site a failure... it takes at least a couple of months typically to start seeing much traffic.

this shit happens in weeks and months (and years), not days and weeks.

i'm on month 3 of working on a site. in the first 3 weeks we had like 1 or 2 visitors per day. then 10 visitors per day then 30 then 50... now we are averaging 100 per day. after 3 months and it's a 200+ page site.

just stick with it. dont give up after 3 weeks, you're just getting it up off the ground. patience. weeks and months. not days and weeks... growing your site is like growing a plant, water it every day and be patient

Well you could head over to the Sell / Buy section of Wickedfire and purchase services to boost your blog rank on google, had a good experience with most of them so give it a try.

Just keep writing good articles and find other ways to generate traffic such as Facebook fanpage or Twitter... There are many ways to do this, don't just rely on Google.
