So apparently Foxconn leaked this or something? The Apple iTV is under development.

Foxconn Chief Confirms The Apple iTV | TechCrunch

the television set will have an aluminum construction, Siri voice controls and FaceTime video calling.

I hate almost all Apple stuff and I already hate this lol. TV prices are already mega cheap. Are people really going to buy an expensive TV just because it has an Apple logo on it? I wouldn't doubt it, but when TVs are already mega cheap it doesn't seem like people will.

Unless they are going to disrupt the way cable works and make it free or pay per channel, then the iTV will suck.

Here is probably how it will be though: make it beautiful, stick an Apple logo on it, sell overpriced apps/subscriptions/books on it, mark up the price as much as possible, people buy millions of them because it's beautiful and the thing to have.

I think it should be interesting to see their execution in the home entertainment space.

You guys may not notice this since you're looking at it from your own perspective, but a lot of home entertainment products are confusing as fuck to use for your average consumer. Logitech already took a jab at the problem with having to use multiple remotes just to do basic things, but I haven't seen anything address the issue of shitty interfaces.

finally a solid confirmation.

Very interested in what they will bring to the table. They always enter a vertical with a foot in the door.

I think this is (one of the) last of Job's projects.

What if this Apple TV changed TVs the way the iPad did tablets? Pretty sure 95%+ of the WickedFire members thought the "giant iPod touch" was a terrible idea. You all wanted a workstation with a touch screen and Apple did something completely different. Have most of you apple haters actually used an apple product? Or do you just say it sucks based on "specs"?

They will sell so many of these tv's just like they sold the iphone when it came out.

Apple stuff works exactly the way it's supposed to and its much easier to use for a lot of people. I just bought a new TV with the apps and internet connectivity and there were a bunch of buggy things about it when I was setting it up. I couldn't help but think if apple had made the tv and not of that annoying buggy BS would have been present.

Whoever blindly praises every move of a company as being (awesome/terrible) is a moron. There are legit praises and discrepancies to be made of Apple, and nearly any other company for that matter.

You all wanted a workstation with a touch screen

Not really sure I did or others... wha? Yeah in theory/concept it's awesome, but in reality it requires well trained deltoid muscles to sit there pointing and clicking at shit all day.. LOLs.

You must be confused. The only thing people get confused about is switching inputs. I haven't met a person yet who cant figure out a hotel tv remote.

It's still is a terrible idea. The marketing just worked out great for apple. I'm even going to prove you're an idiot:

Do you see mobile traffic increasing, month after month? How about iPad? I thought not. Moron.

If we wanted a workstation with a touchscreen, we would buy touch monitors. You are thick.

I own a macbook pro. Total piece of shit. I also owned an iPhone - it got thrown at a wall and replaced with a far superior Android (Galaxy Nexus). I own an iPod, and have owned several generations of it since the 1st gen - best music player I've ever owned - still doesn't save my audio book position when the battery goes flat... oh wait, my Android does though.

I was under the impression Jobs killed the Apple TV?

I guess their hand was forced since Samsung has been making an impact with their Smart TV's and rumoured "S cloud".

someone in apple told me that the iTV is going to be connected to clouds... that also connected to cables provider.... :D

Come on man, marketing alone doesn't sell

units of anything. The product obviously stands on its own merits, it does not lack competitors yet commands 80%+ of the market.

iPad - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It has the "shiny" effect. People say "oh cool, that'll be useful!", buy it, then never use it after the first couple of times, but never really realize that they wasted their money on a times used/cost ratio. If you were to demo an iPad to someone in-store, it's pretty easy to see the coolness of being able to browse the net from the comfort of your couch, but then again, most people keep their phones within reach anyway - so why go the extra distance to grab the iPad? Netbook sales basically did the same thing.

My graph shows a strong correlation of the following:

1) Mobile traffic is increasing to my site
2) Mobile traffic overall is increasing (not just my site)
3) Even though I'm getting more market penetration, my iPad traffic is basically stable, which indicates a decline as the traffic should be matching my serp penetration increase (which it clearly isn't).

They need competition.

...Oh, wait....

Lesson learned from Google TV: The cable channels locked up all the good shit so there was nothing on at all.

I can't believe apple would make that mistake after Goog so clearly spelled it out for them.

iTV will be a hit. Buy stock, bros.

Bullshit. You clearly don't own an ipad/don't have use for it. That's why you think that way.

My graph shows a strong correlation of the following:

blah blah blah

Exactly why is your site should be taken as a definite authority on device usage matters?

Please, think before posting stupid shit.

all am gonna say "HATERS GONNA HATE". Apple will continue to dominate the market for atleast next 5 years. People called me a retard when i bought AAPL back in 2005. Fuck them now

IMO, they got a winner. Aint the cable companies ripping you off already?

i feel like apple tv gonna be the next iPad, we will see 20% of the traffic comes from appletv and their competitors , i see on my websites around 20% iPads traffic, thats crazy.
