Which approach do you think makes more sense?
Option A: build a bunch of spammy links that will be removed almost as soon as you build them and may lead to an unnatural linking notice from Google
Option B: do proper research into your competitors backlinking strategy and steal as many backlinks as you can from the guys that are already ranking for your keyword.
