Preface: I want to advertise on FB some legit retail products locally in Switzerland, but I haven't done any FB advertising for almost two years.

Back in the days I had the Facebook Ads Manager from 4houraffiliate.com, but it got bought by Mr. Green and than shut down by Facebook AFAIR.

Requirements:

  • Auto creating ads
  • Split testing
  • Conversion tracking
  • Small business friendly pricing
So far I found:

  • Qwaya
  • Social Ads Tool
  • AdParlor
  • adSage AFP
  • Kenshoo
  • BuyBuddy
  • Spruce Media
  • Marin Software

What's the best tool out there? What's your recommendation?

I am running some FB ads in the HR consulting field but the result is not too good. Probably people go to facebook to have fun, not looking for job.

Well, just an experiment to see how FB ads fare against Adwords.

I am going to run some other ads about fashion products too but i think i will track them personally instead of using software.

I use BuyBuddy, formerly known as Social Ad Manager.

It costs 2.5% - 5% of my ad spend, but the time saved creating ads and the money saved with the optimization options make it worth the price to me.

What a load of shit.

Just one auto optimization rule alone probably saves me more than 2.5% - 5% in wasted ad spend... "If CTR is lower than X after X impressions then pause the ad"... and I don't have to sit on FB watching stats to pause them manually.

Good note, this is the kind of discussion I was hoping for.

I'm probably gonna try Qwaya first, according to their website they also offer ad and campaign rules.
Mainly it's the conversion tracking with Google Analytics support that is selling me.

Regarding BuyBuddy, do they have a monthly minimum ad spend or fee?

No monthly minimum with BuyBuddy.

Social Ads Tool seemed like the closest competitor when I first signed up with the fee also starting at 5% of your ad spend, but they have a €500 minimum monthly charge.

I used Spydr's tool for awhile but am mainly using Power Editor now.

Not tried any of those auto-optimization tools, they sound really
interesting though.

I'm still doing things manually via Excel and CPVLab but would
be interested to hear about automated solutions, so thanks for
starting this discussion.
