Can't speak for others, but I know I get a lot of repeat buyers versus new buyers for mine.
A lot of those guys buy and don't post in the thread. It's mainly new buyers new to your service/offers that end up asking questions or confirming their order that ends up bumping it.

We implemented much more aggressive anti-spam/anti-fraud plugins. Its cut down a shit ton of spam, that's for sure. Anti-fraud, its helped, but there really isn't much we can do once things head into Paypal territory between buyer and seller, so we're likely just going to let our awesome reps at Paypal deal with that from now on.
When you implement new plugins/features for anything selling related, you have to let it run its course for at least one month straight, just to be able to properly gauge what is helping and what isn't, and pick and choose from that point on.
So, the end of the month of those plugins are quickly approaching. The next round of testing starts this week. Should see an increase in activity, but don't expect a surge of it for another 10-20 days at the most.
When we've figured out the new mix of what works and what doesn't, we'll be coupling it with the new price changes. Which, by the way, will be based on niche/category selling.
Its been roughly a year now since we added pricing. People ran around yelling about a sky that was falling and our ultimate demise, and those people, as usual, were wrong. Since making the change from free to paid, I'd say quality sky rocketed, fraud/scams tanked (not to say we are so awesome, but we had very little of it before as it was... and yes, we ARE awesome), and the marketplace ultimately began to truly mature.
There will always be idiots. Can't get rid of them. Unfortunately, murder is not legal yet, so there is no way to stop them from showing up. But, if you're an active seller, and have been so for a while, you also know full well that this place makes you bank.
So, be patient, and focus on making your bank. Ya dig?
This. I have a very small section of buyers that buy again, for site after site, sometimes multiple times per week, every week.
(and yes, I will be buying another thread, had some Paypal issues that delayed that, but now I'm just relaxing a little bit with a small amount of orders before I jump back in.)
You're already behind on your Juice tax to me... don't start making claims to be willing to pay when you have no monies to pay with.

How many bumps you get is far from the amount of orders you get, my best week doing $xx,xxx was most probably the slowest one in terms of bumps...
It is just a different dynamic.
Now that threads are paid and have a limited time till they are closed, sellers are more motivated to bump and bump often.
I thought the same thing honestly.
I think one thing that would help is separating new sellers from the veteran sellers . Creating a 'power seller' arena where you have to have been a member for X years and have at least X iTrader with XX% feedback.

Only bad services are dying....even if you see the OP bumping the thread over and over again, it doesn't mean people are not buying...many don't mention on the thread that they have bought, and lot of times the conversations are done via PM
I'm sure the Google updates hitting sites over and over... many are tired of building out sites again and again.
I like the section, have for a while. Turn and burn sites or so called authority sites, maybe those that were putting up sites and slamming them with links are sick of the rebuilding part.
I like the idea of building out a real site, that users of the Niche really like. Turn and burn can work...if you know what keywords you need to hit over and over again.
