Good man, although I'm more of a glock guy I got the XD 40 and XD9 (both subcompact). So you got the longer barrel I assume eh? It's a good gun, love it.
Here's a pic of the actual gun... Shorter barrel. Pops and father-in-law have Glocks, was tempted by them. If I recall correctly, I think it was Aaron Kelly who told me over Skype that if I'm new with firearms to get a 9mm to start, and he recommended the XD9. I'm excited to take it to the range.
yeah its a sick gun and thats the same one :--) Good concealment gun. Try and get that California CCW now :--)
Just bought this a few months ago. Commemorative Custom Sig P220 Combat engraved on the top right portion of the slide with "America's Battalion OEF 11.2", and my Battalion's logo facing the shooter on the top of the slide in front of the sights. Empty chamber indicator, two 8 round mags, and a 10 round mag as well as front rails.
The pistol is beautiful in person and really no pictures truly show what it looks like.

What would you guys recommend as a cheap starter pistol? Should I go for .22 or 9mm?
Only got a Sig 550 at the moment but having some pistol skills can't hurt I'm sure.

Despite me being primarily xd and a glock guy, I did buy 2 hi-point's 9mm just for lulz. They cost like $150 a pop (glocks, xds, etc, expect $500+ USD per usually)... you can't go any cheaper I don't think.

In another thread we were discussing survival preparedness. A rifle that is often recommended is a simple .22 caliber. They are inexpensive, and can be used to kill small animals if you needed to.

In India, .32 Walther PPK and Beretta Cheetah (81 FS ) go for nothing less than 30K USD, and you are lucky to get it.. 1911s go for 60-50 K
Agreed! The past few buys and oc gun shows I've been going too was for this caliber. Bought several 5250 round bricks (lr). Off the top off my head, I got 2 handguns and like.... 7ish rifles in 22lr?.? Forgive typing, on iPad. But yeah blowing up birds or basic eating survival with 762x39 or 223 would be both to expensive and not practical.
A 22 is the rifle that everyone in the world should have.
Light, reliable and decently accurate. They're also cheap to supress and the ammo is also cheap as well.
Almost any store that carries ammo in the US has ammo for them, and you can get anything from cheap bricks to olympic match grade stuff.
During the depression in the US, 22s were used to kill hundreds of thousands of deer.

Looks like a high-standard copy. If so it should be fine. High standard is one of the most accurate brands of 22s out there.
Found this one as well. More expensive than the Norinco but heard a lot of good things about the Ruger MK's. What do you guys think?
And when you shoot a man in the chest, there is a good chance that the bullet will bounce around off the bones inflicting mortal wounds.
Even if you don't own a .22 stocking up on ammo will give you a tremendous amount of bartering power when the shit hits the fan
So I've literally got tens of thousands of rounds in ammo, and im not referring to just 22 (you do the math financially). You think I'm gonna go barter X amount of bullets for something to feed my family/child/etc? Fuck no.... I'm buying these and stockpiling for other purposes. Same rule applies with antibiotics, etc. If I need it bad enough, I'm gonna git it...
