Ready to crush my competitor, but can't get bing ads content network traffic flowing

I just launched a new offer and have been split testing my offer vs. my main competitor.

My offer has been converting much better than my competitor's and I know for a fact my $ per customer is higher because he isn't even using downsells and doesn't have much going on in the backend either.

Anyways, I ran a whatrunswhere report on his site and it shows that he has been running for 250+ days on 2 specific websites via bing ads.

So I went into bing ads and setup a content network campaign and specifically targeted these 2 sites but I'm not getting any traffic at all. My bids are at $5 too.

Anyone know how I can get traffic flowing? Very frustrating because I know for a fact I can pay more than my competitor to acquire a customer.

I'm not sure how it works on Bing but as a publisher is there the option, for the website you are trying to advertise on, to approve new advertisers on their website? For example, the publisher may have to approve your site first? I'm pretty much talking out of my ass here, but that could be the problem. The publisher hasn't approved your ads for their website. I could have sworn Google was able to do that with placement targeting, but who knows what the fuck I'm talking about. I know in Adsense you can disapprove Ads from certain websites from showing up on your site (competitors for example), it would only make sense to be able to do that on Bing or have an approval process.​
 
What do you mean by not being able to get traffic flowing? Your ads aren't being shown or you just aren't getting any clicks?

I have 2 campaigns running, one for content and one for search.

When i go to the targeted website and do a search for my keyword my ad is displayed but for the search campaign.

Have not been able to see my content ads though.

How long ago did you start the content ad campaign? Is this a new account? If it is brand new I've seen it take up to 7 days to start showing ads.

Does the status column say "Active"? If you aren't seeing your ad on the targeted site it could be that Bing doesn't think your ad is relevant enough.

Too many unknown variables without seeing the actual campaign. Best thing to do is call their support #1-800-518-5689 and have a rep go over your ads (they are easy to reach during operating hours).

Account is 2 years old. Content campaign launched this morning and says active. Thanks for the 7 day tip. Probably just need to wait it out.
 
Like someone else mentioned, BingAds can take a lot of time before running traffic on their content network.

I wouldn't worry much after one day.
 
bing content network? be prepared for fraud clicks my friend.

I've ran a several hundred thousand dollars there, fraud is huge on Bing content for certain niches.

This, fucking BIG TIME.

I ran about 50k worth... A lot of bullshit fraud. Ms doesn't seem that interested in stopping it either.
 
I've seen a lot of fraud on adcenter content for auto and life insurance leads. Like even fake leads being filled in and stuff. Also be sure to start your campaign targeting visitors from the location you want and not people searching for the location you are targeting which is the default. The default location option is "Show ads to people in, searching for, or viewing pages about your targeted location" you want to change it to "Show ads to people in your targeted location", this is probably obvious but otherwise you'll get a ton of fraud clicks from random countries.
 
Had $1k worth of fraud clicks come through the content in a few hours. It was so obvious that it was fraudulent traffic. IP would be like 89.489.1, 89.489.2 so on and so forth but for thousands of clicks within a two hour period. Even though that specific campaign did $50 a day. Anyways I contacted MS who did a fraud check. They said that nothing looked suspicious on their end and they wouldn't refund my money.
 
Appreciate the input. Had no idea it can take so long to get content campaigns approved.

I just setup a WAP campaign and regular text campaign set to only show and allow click to call.

Do these usually get approved quick like regular search PPC ads or take longer like the content network?

Its everywhere. People are wanting to make money by frauding you. It doesnt matter what niches your in
 
Unless you use specific site targeting avoid the bingads content network. Should rename that to bingads fraud network.
