I would like to see what I can do with $80 and log it here. I have a place I would like to place ads. I can put a banner up with a link. It is a college site (not facebook). I am leaning towards CJ to use lendingtree for loans. I would like to see how much money I can get by tomorrow night using the $80 dollars.

Any suggestions? I am debating a few things, which affiliate, putting the SS# online (which I guess I have to do as I am not incorporated), what ads to use, using a landing page or a straight link, and a few other things. Being I don't have $10,000 for the experiment I would like to just see if I can make this into $160 and so on.

Well, that would do nothing for me.

I am waiting for approval from a bunch of places. So hopefully by this evening I will be able to advertise a little bit... We will see. All suggestions will be read, good ones will be considered.

For my first official post on WF, let me respond to this in a way that will save others a lot of time so that they don't have to!

1.) Noone knows how much you can make with $80, as it all depends on the offer that you're running, where you're advertising, the traffic that you're getting, number of conversions.....blah blah blah.

2.) If you have something that you think works, just do it.....don't tell everyone about it so they can jack your idea and run. Or actually for that matter, if you have a really good idea....PM it to me with all the specifics!

3.) Just do it. Stop asking a million questions. This is like Nike. Minus the highly paid athletes and (sometimes) cool commercials.

4.) You have to test in order to see if something works. If you're using PPC and you only have $80, have a daily limit set so that you don't go over that.

5.) The search button is your friend. Search, search, and more search. I have been here for about 2 weeks and have learned an insane amount of stuff. I still find new stuff everyday that is quality information.

80$

10$ - reseller hosting
10$ - domain

install wordpress and start writing articles for a niche. Go find places to drop links to your blogs. Then buy 6 more domains and add them to your reseller account and repeat. Seems simple enough. But you'll probably just spend it on a stupid ebook or gay piece of software. Cause that's what stupid people that ask stupid questions end up doing.

I am not new to the internet, rather new to affiliate marketing. definitely wouldn't buy an ebook. that is why i am here. i have done a few blogs and am waiting for those to prosper into mad traffic.

i am not asking about blogs... i am asking about affiliate marketing through ads/referrals, any recommendations on that?

PPC ads.

You might test the water with 7search, searchfeed (3rd tier, low class but cheap)
MSN, Yahoo (more expensive)
TextLinkAdvertising

If your niche is college related and you already have a place for banner ads/text links you really don't need to spend any money, assuming the college site has decent traffic.

Just try out offers you think college age kids would like (Ringtones/Scholarships/ect)

If the site doesn't have much traffic put it into that.

Here is what seems to be working...
Work on a ppc base... run some free zip submits or email submits

Come up with some longer-tail keywords, and incorporate them into the site a bit, with your affiliate links...

People love free shit.

Free Zip Submit Running right now: 624 Imp - 567 Clicks - 91% CTR - 103 Leads - 1:5.5 Converts at $1.5 / lead.

624 Impressions for lets say .07 per click (seems to be a low spot on this PPC platform I'm using.)
Equals and amazing $43.68.
With those 103 Solid leads (in about an hours worth of time) I made $154.50
Subtract expenses (43.68)
and that gives us a profit of $110.82
Subtract what you want for your "Hour worth of work time" lol if thats how you are...

Anyone good at drawing here?
I think I just did a good job but am no artist /snark/

"I think I want to put lending tree ads on a college site so people who live in dorms, work part-time jobs, and spend all their money on beer can get the best rate on a loan to buy _____________ (insert something they won't qualify for a loan for and can't afford the payment for here)"
Where's your common sense? You obviously haven't read much of Wicked Fire, or you would know that no one here is going to help you when you go out of your way to let us all know how stupid you are. Any advice anyone here gives you will be a waste of their time because you won't execute it correctly anyways.

"Hey, I have $xx. Can one of you guys, who have no fucking clue who I am, give me an exact blueprint that will show me, step by step, how to double it by tomorrow?"
This is like asking an NBA player if they can show you how to play basketball real quick so you can go try out for a team tomorrow and get signed making millions of dollars. Just because people make it look easy, doesn't mean you can just hop online and start doing it with the $80 you made mowing your dad's lawn all summer.

I don't want to be a dick, but if you want to do this, get an education about it, then spend 12 hours a day making mistakes until eventually you can identify enough of your mistakes to be able to start making more profitable decisions than mistakes.

When that happens, feel free to come and ask NOOB questions along the lines of:

"Has anyone promoted offers for _____ Affiliate Company? Do they pay on time?"

"I would like to track this element of my campaign, what's the most effecient way to do it?"

"My girlfriend wants some opinions on her new breast implants. Here's pictures, will you guys critique them for me?"

My final suggestion, do what Smaxor said- or hang on to your money and read your ass off for now, cuz you don't have a clue what you're doing and you will just lose it and give up.

I do appreciate the good advice below. I am going to read up on the good advice a bit more.

The site I am working with is a college message board. They allow others to advertise, similiar to how facebook had done. It is not my site. Average age ~23 (more for alumni), hence thinking lending tree for loan refinancing and first time home mortgages. I was thinking I could put some things up similiar to the facebook things that had worked.

I signed up for cj, most sites denied me off the bat. I am not sure why exactly, but I am looking at the sites that did accept me. The reason I had asked for help was to get advice on best affiliate programs and best methods to post ads...

Please feel free to give advice or troll.
