How can you edit the meta tags on WP?

Sorry for all my recent WP posts! This is my first blog!

How can I edit my meta tags? Can I just go into admin and go to presentation and one of these files will have the meta tags? I checked main index, stylesheet, page template and couldn't find it.


any help would be appreciated, thanks!
 


The plugin works great, but yes you can go into the theme header file to manually edit the meta tags, but the meta tags will then be the same for every page on your site.

I edit the header manually and still use custom tags for each page (just needs a bit of coding in the header).
 
Can somebody let me know which lines I need to edit? I found the file "header" but I don't understand php!

I installed that All-in-one SEO plug-in, but I didn't like how it edited my urls, when I checked my blog in google it added category links to the url instead of just the domain, and I didn't like the descriptions that it generated vs. the default without the plug-in.

I also noticed that my ranking for a particular keyword basically disappeared. So, I got worried and deleted the plug-in and even robots.txt that was the only changes I made in the last couple days to my blog.

Can the changes in ranking be so quick? Was I just paranoid deleting this plug-in and robots.txt

Should I reactivate that plug-in?
 
Nevermind about the meta tags, I installed a "Meta-tags" plug-in for WP which is supposed to do everything automatically.

Any advise on what I should do about the SEO plug-in would be appreciated.
