What a comet sounds like in space

NASA recorded the sound of space on their Voyager missions:

Yeah I used to watch this...

ESA landed their probe on the comet today.

I can barely kick a football in a net from 5 yards on a good day, and these chaps have landed a probe (softly) on a rock, only a few kilometers in size, nearly 500 million km away, using planets as slingshots and visiting objects like asteroids en route. Five hundred million fucking kilometers away. It's travelled billions getting there too.

Space Science

They also had to predict where the comet would be 10 years into the future and adjust its path accordingly.

So fucking wild.

People sure are puny apes with Stockholm syndrome, always shitting on their turf and glorifying whatever else.

Wow wow space space woah woah space let's go to space there's nothing there but hostile uninhabitable pieces of gaseous rocks with temperatures exceeding hell, woah woah so fascinated so impressed #bigbangtheoryisgreatsitcom #ifuckinlovescience

Its a sign of things to come. The human race is eventually going to populate other planets and space. Fastforward 700 years and you will be posting from your spaceship or gay boyfriends space home.

Honestly bro i think its never going to happen. Ftl travel is just not possible. The furtest we will ever reach is mars. And even that will end up just being a once off like the moon landing then nothing happens for another 40 years.

I think it's dependent on whether or not the human race destroys itself or is destroyed by a collision by an asteroid before developing sufficient technology. Maybe FTL is impossible but technology tends to surprise.

It's definitely happening, human race needed a 100 000 year process of evolution and we barely, just barely reached the fucking moon.

That being said, I think Mars is our future, 2-5 years down the line and we're there, can't wait for those russian IG whores to selfie from space, oh shiiiiet, space abs space pink nike trainers oooh snaps

Think about how far we have come only in the past 75 years in regards to advancements in technology and science.

We definitely are going into space for exploration, colonization, and living once we have more future R&D in the technology and science sectors. Will it be government funded research or privatized that get us there? That is my main interest.

As stated above, if the human race can even last that long, we will get there. Its only a matter of when.

Have to agree with Conj, never gonna happen.

So the human race is never going to leave Earth to populate other places?

Thats absurd to even think about. We HAVE to in order to continue on with our race.

We're all citizens of the Milky Way galaxy already ;] We must go beyond.
