WickedFire lose weight and get ripped thread (2015 edition)

Afternoon Snack - 1 cup of popcorn, 2-3 pieces of candy (can't shake the craving)

Kicking sugar is tough. Consumption triggers the release of dopamine. Studies show that sugar affects the same pathways in the noggin as heroine and cocaine. To that end, it may be just as addictive.

This is a good read on the topic if you're interested.

I'm not trying to tell you to avoid added sugars. Diet is very personal. But if you're trying to kick the sugar habit, it's useful to know why doing so is difficult. Most folks are addicted to it.

Incidentally, my diet is similar to what charlesmartel recommended, but without the leafy greens.

Womp womp. Competition over by look of the dead thread.

It was Easter or whatever this past weekend right? I didn't know until someone tried to give me chocolate outside, but I'd love to know how many metric tonnes of turkey and stuffing were eaten by WF so soon after the competition fire was lit in their... bellies. That pun wasn't intentional.

My progress:

Start date: March 4th
Total: 154.41 lbs
Fat: 22.21 lbs
Water: 96.81 lbs
Nonfat: 35.4 lbs
Bodyfat %: 14.4%

Last weigh: March 30th
Total: 161.42 lbs
Fat: 18.21 lbs
Water: 104.81 lbs
Nonfat: 38.4 lbs
Bodyfat %: 11.3%

So in 3.5 weeks I lost 4lbs in fat and gained 3lbs in muscle. My bodyfat dropped all the way down to 11.3% although that can be a little misleading since I also managed to pick up 8 lbs of water during that time. But still great results for just under a month of work!

Theres no secret to getting in shape, lift heavy and get anaerobic a few times a week.

My only real goal this year is to squat 405 (184kg) by the end of the year. Ass to grass.

how much now?

This is a competition? I thought we were all just stroking ourselves.

I'm still going. Bouncing around between 206-208lbs right now.

I've only lost about 1kg/2lbs, but fluctuates wildly depending on how much carbs I eat.I am back to lifting 3 times a week so that will make a difference.

That's some serious weight. You on that special juice bro?

No gear. Supps I take: protein, creatine, fish oil, probiotic, vitamin D+K, glucosamine, ZMA + tryptophan at night.

My gay webmaster lifestyle allows me to sleep and train all I want.

It's still serious weight. I would say above 140kg squat is very good. Most people in shape don't get much over 120kg outside dedicated pl or ol gyms.

It is a lofty goal, but doable. I just got done with the Crossfit Open so now I'm strictly Olympic lifting.

Im 20kg off my total to qualify for USAW Nationals (currently 125kg CNJ/105kg Snatch), so thats a goal as well, don't know if I can get that in time to qualify though...maybe next year.

scrolled through the whole thread only to find no shirtless pictures of gay webmasters

Anyone that has spent any time here knows better. I would love to post pics but the thing is I don't want them to end up on some Acai Berry advert.

How much water you are retaining is the huge battle. Just keep weighing in each week and look for trends. If you are losing weight, then overall in the long term your weight will come down.

Anyways, I haven't updated results in a few weeks because I was some what shocked even thought I was warned what might happen. My cut actually gained wait the first week or 2 but I'm losing like crazy right now.

3/20 I was ~223, went up to ~225 on 4/3, and weighed in yesterday at ~221. I was eating mostly ~2500 cals for the first few weeks, and the last week was eating ~2100 cals. I then lost nearly 3 lbs in a week so I will be eating ~2500 cals a day with 4, 1 hour work outs a week. I haven't taken measurements for more than a month and probably should. I've gone down an entire belt notch since starting though, which is at least an inch.

I'm in special position where I'm far from homeland and live in a hotel room with no fridge or kitchen [and its all fried chicken and fast food in London].

I do 2x morning and evening cardio 45-60mins each 5x a week - and then either recover on weekends or just go in morning if I can get out of bed. Combining that with under 2200-2000 calories a day - I feel pretty exhausted by the end of day5 but get back to normal w a good day of lying around in bed watching movies on day6.

Dropped 10 lbs in past 30 days.

I've never been fat but I haven't seen my abs in a long time, and with coming back to North America - why not, all the free pussy a "Just Came From Europe" pass grants a person.

PS - I wouldn't commit to this longtime - this is overkill. This is purely because I have fuck else to do in a hotel room - and London is fucking boring unless you care about 400 year old buildings. Which I don't - and dedicated the last 45 days here to pure cutting.

This is a short term less-extreme-than-those-celebs-that-own-a-personal-trainer-whos-with-them-15hours-a-day-making-it-possible-to-do-3hours-of-daily-cardio-because-the-guy-is-there-telling-them-selena-gomez-moved-on-from-their-twink-ass. This isn't something anyone would do long term, I don't think. Unless they're already in great cardio shape and just enjoy training for marathons.

Those exhausting themselves on cardio and reducing their caloric intake at the same time are risking downward regulation of their metabolism. You'll lose weight initially yet will more easily get fatter in the long term (beyond the initial weight).

I forgot to mention I'm 25 and haven't spent the past half of my life filling the bloodstream with cheetos and energy drinks while discussing the latest WSO of 2002 [back in 2002].

Like I said - it's a short program for me. Working well. No regular, young person would "downward regulation of their metabolism" to any point that it would make any difference whatsoever from monthlong bursts of these. I'm sure most old people over 30 would see benefit from this, I'm not old and don't care right now. I do know metabolism slows 2% a decade for a person and I doubt anyone here could ever do enough cardio to affect their metabolism in any way but a positive one.
