Usually something sketchy is going on if you can't wait a few measly days or fill out a proper tax form to join...
If any networks want to collaborate and build a site of cheater and fraud affiliates so we can share information about those who want to defraud networks and advertisers feel free to get in touch with me, i have been thinking of putting a site together for networks so we can out all the fraud affiliates and weed them out of our space.
I have a list of about 10 people so far that we have caught, not to mention the fraud rings based in China that proliferate in every network.

i agree. Affiliates who want approval right away or daily or weekly payments right away without being someone known in the industry is a red flag for fraud.
Great list/forum there demon. The problem with these list is who polices it and who deciedes whether a pub or aff are shady ?
Look at all the affiliates that talk shit about networks, be difficult to filter that noise.
look at the CJ and clickbooth issues that have come up in the past. Its generally be peoples word rather than proof.
You know what I'd love? If you guys would get together and standardize a number of things across the industry. This cheater idea would be great for you, I agree, but for those of us who work with publishers having to navigate the vast range of categorizations, querystring structures and report structures is really a giant pain. Just for example, when I design an accounting system to true up transactional data (click/offer/user mainly) on the publisher end with transactional data (click/offer/money mainly) on the affiliate network end, it always requires doing about ten times the work to deal with all the various structures of everything. Categorization is another pain (I have a spreadsheet of taxonomies from 4 major networks that I tried to reconcile and it's crazy), though more manageable I suppose; however, it'd be nice if we could simply rely on aff nets to transmit a reliable industry-standard broad category along with an offer through some kind of API. Heck, it'd be nice if we could just get updates on offers and data through some kind of API. Sucks having to check your mail, mark something inactive, redirect existing content, etc, when it could easily be automated. If any networks want to collaborate and build a site of cheater and fraud affiliates so we can share information about those who want to defraud networks and advertisers feel free to get in touch with me, i have been thinking of putting a site together for networks so we can out all the fraud affiliates and weed them out of our space.
