I'm having some trouble with QS on a new campaign, so I took the top few advertiser's URL's in the niche and used them as the destination URL when I went to setup my own campaign.

These 'top' sites also had $1.00, 5.00 and 10.00 clicks when set up in my account - and obviously these guys are not paying that.

Is this approach even reliable to test QS (entering other sites into the destination url field), and if it is to an extent, does this mean that some sort of account history factor is screwing me over? I've been using this same Adwords account for about 2+ years, from noobs-ville to decently profitable. The account history in a word sucks total ass.

Sorry but this has been bugging me.

it is a valid method - try starting with a new campaign using the URLs for top folks.

yea, i get shit QS for all of them.

isn't there a chance at getting banned if i open a 2nd account - or is that only if i keep both active and bid on the same shit?

try a new domain and a new account. It wont take long to build up your history, just move all of your campaigns over that have good QS and CTR

You don't need to make a new account. Your CTR last year isn't relevent nor does Google care about the entirety of your life's SEM.

Just create a new campaign and work on your CTR for a few weeks by possibly bidding higher than you want to in the long run before lowering your bid.

If you keep both active. Sometimes they'll freeze both your accounts when you make a new one though.
