This has to be answered in WF somewhere but I can't find it. I'm looking for an autoresponder that is a lot cheaper than AWeber. So if anyone has has thread please post it.

I'm hosting with Hostgator and their autoresponder seems to be only good for one reponse " I'm out of town of town - on vacation - too drunk to type now - etc."

I'm looking for multiple canned responses ( thank you, week 1, week 2, week3, etc, )and a decent unsubscribe function for an email course or newsletter publisher. Any suggestions?

Thank you,
Art Deco

Hi ArtDeco,

AutoResponse Plus costs $195 and doesn't require a monthly fee. I used it years ago (an earlier version) and liked it. But, I switched to Aweber to resolve deliverability issues.

I haven't spoken to anyone who uses the current version of AutoResponse Plus, so I can't offer a meaningful review. But, over the long-run, it will cost less than Aweber (at least, in terms of actual dollars spent on the service).

Hope that helps.

A Very Small List

Thanks TradeMark . I'll Google them, but I think I'm going to try the free PHPList and see if I can get any mail through for free. I only have a few hundred addresses so no big loss if it bombs.

Thanks buythat. I downloaded it as well as phplist, and will use whichever I can get to work. A purchased script that only costs what aw weber charges for a month's rent is fantastic. Especially since the author will install it, and my php skills suck.

I use freeautobot (freeautobot.com) Its totally free and doesn't send any advertisements to your receipients. They get their money by advertising to you while you are logged in to your account with them. I have to tell you that the ads you look at are a bit annoying but its worth it to have a free autoresponder.

You get to write unlimited messages and you can personalize the messages so that the reciepients name shows up in the email or subject. To do this you put <%First_Name%> wherever you want to suscribers name to show up. Freeautobot gets the suscribers name from when they opted in.

Make sure you click on the "help" button when you are in the "add lead" section of your account. That is where you will get the code to put on your website or pop in to catch the email and name of the suscriber.
