varies greatly on too many variables, can depend on the offer, competition, landing page, ppc ad, keywords. I have too many offers that completely fail, and some that perform but, my "average affiliate conversion" is not going to help you.
you just need to continue testing, tweaking, etc.. make sure you search and read up on this forum on all the methods of split-testing, tweaking a campaign.
also the landing page itself can have so many variables, things like color, placements of your buttons, the content, the entire design can have a huge impact. there's even a program called "clickheat" which many people use that will tell you where people are clicking on your landing page (wheather it's buttons or not), so you can see what you might need to tweak.
Well as of now I'm getting around 400 clicks with an conversion of 4 sales...?
The conversion rate DOES vary but usually based on what you're asking the viewer to do.
Ask the for an email/zip and you can see conversions as high as 10%
some will pretend that their conversion is higher but either they have the deal of a lifetme or they're doing some blackhat stuff
If your asking for complex (like social I credit card, say or a satelite offer) your conversion will drop down a lot.
What some people here are trying to say is that conversion is only as important as the ppc price you're paying and the payout on action.
Satelite deals pay up to $200+ and so a plc cost of several dollars and a conversion rate of a 1% is alright, but if it's a zip submit and you have a 1% conversion rate and high ppc then you're in trouble.
On 400 paid clicks you payed what?
and how much did you pay?
If you paid $400 ($1/click) but made $800 ($200/sale) then you banked
Troll. Ban.The chances of getting clicks that cheap with good keywords are next to none with a new account specially a account that has not historical keyword history...
Do you do much affiliate marketing?
