I have been doing a lot reading and research about affiliate marketing and the next big thing I am reading about is using video in affiliate marketing. Does anyone here use video in their marketing efforts? What do you think about video in affiliate marketing?

I did a little testing with videos and something I noticed was the video load time was key. I had two pages with different videos and each one was hosted by a different provider. The video that took longer to load had a quicker visitor bounce rate than the other one. Just my 2 cents.

I've been running one landing page with a video on it for about a week and its killing. Haven't split tested vs non video page yet mind you.

I am also interested in hearing your opinions on this. I will be getting my first exposure to it soon through embedding a vendor tutorial in a landing page.

Slick video, you think he'd have the budget to not use youtube. Serious landing page leakage.

Video sounds like an alright idea, but if auto-loads, you're going to shoot yourself in the foot as it'll take ages to load. ESPECIALLY if it's not even hosted on the same server as the rest of your site.

Whatever you do, don't use animated GIFs... Nothing turns people off a site faster than a 1 second repeating loop

As usual "it depends". It depends on the product and it depends on your execution.

I know of one guy who made a killing promoting a book using a web cam video of just him selling the book. But the product was good and his presentation was good.

Make sure the video has good call to action. The video should feel like part of your content, not something you just threw in there for the sake of it.

I've been looking for a good script for merging my own hosted videos into my pages. If anyone knows of one, post it here or pm me. I need support for one or more common video formats, and for the player interface to be clean and simple.

you can easily make a video player totally customizable. here's the process:

1- make the video in a format that can be open with quicktime (u need the pro version i think)

2- export it as .flv video

3- open the .flv file with flash cs3 that it will start a wizard to create the player.

4- once you are done with the wizard process you can set all the parameters clicking on the object created and looking at the parameters in the inspector.

in this way you won't have a link leakage and you can even stream it (so it will start as soon it will have buffered enough)

if you need help with creating your videos send me a pvt message. i can even make create the flash player for you for a small fair fee ;)

I created DrRingtones.com for a client. If you need budgeted video creation / or videos like this please contact me on AIM at - bannerblindness or call me during normal business hours at 843-425-3566. We can also do model photo and video shoots for you.

I was thinking of just asking my gf to do some videos for me for a couple hundred bucks. But I'm worried about mixing business with pleasure?
