Question to all about categories in online shops.
Which is better:

Brand / item category / Item
or
Item category / Brand / Item

As in:
Dell / Laptops / whateverXP2000

or

Laptops / Dell / whateverXp 2000

Somehow, my brain is flunking out on me today.:anon.sml:

in the US, it's generally laptops/dell/model.

Over here, for some reason it's brands/dell/laptop/model

thanks guys. I was leaning towards Item category / brand / model.

I agree to Item category / brand / model.

Somehow the other one seems illogical, because most people look for an item first, then pick a brand. Not the other way around.

You dont see someone walking to a store saying "I want a Toshiba product...oh look, they have TV's!"

They usually say "Im looking for a TV...oh this Toshiba looks nice".

I agree with item/brand/model but the brand/item/model works if you're ONLY selling known named brand goods.

i.e. if you're only selling Asus, Dell, Sony and HP computer stock, then doing it by brand, then by item works.
And products with strong brand loyalty like coke or mcdonalds
