Why all the hate?

Hey Guys, visit wickedfire all the time, wish I could post more, just don't have the time right now. I plan on getting more involved here and hope to meet up with you guys for lots of brown pops at one of the upcoming affiliate shows. You guys have helped me alot and I owe you!!!

Anyways, to my point...

You guys went pretty hard on Uber the past couple of days and just wanted to give you example how he has helped me. I truly believe his revenue numbers are accurate by the way.

Im 31 years old and have 2 kids AND about 6 months ago my wife left me with the kids. I was a project manager at and environmental company here in Canada. I hated going to work everyday making fuck all money for someone else just barley scraping by trying to pay rent and all the other life/child costs.

With my kids now 2 hours away with my wife I didn't have much else to do during the week but focus on making money for myself. I sat in my empty house, tapped into my neighbors internet connection and became obsessed with making money online as an affiliate.

My first steps were to read read read...and what did I read, Uber Affiliate, Super Affiliate Mindset (I know you guys hate amit) and WickedFire Posts.

Now these guys don't give out their exact information and that is very understandable. But If any noob really wants to get into this game read these sites 10 times over the entire time focussing on reading through the lines, I swear the answer are there. If I were them I would never give out this much info ;).

I am on pace for $150,000 this month at least and this is my second month at it, it totally boggles my mind.

The biggest hurdle so far has been dealing with google customer support and making changes to satisfy them.

My main revenue is from one of the most saturated markets, this shows you there is still lots of money to be made.

Its been said many times but get on the horn with you affiliate manager and ask them tons of questions, don't hold anything back.

You have to understand that a lot of the hate coming from posts on WickedFire really comes from boredom and immaturity. Folks should really be concentrating on their own businesses but instead get kicks out starting up drama in forums. It's also just kind of the flavor here, take it or leave it.

It's pretty ridiculous when people complain:

Affiliate blogger X only posts general information. They never post specific information. Wah wah wah.

Big fucking deal. Really, it would be pretty ridiculous for these folks to post specific information about their campaigns. Keywords, Landing Pages, etc. Some things you need to figure out on your own, folks.

Okay, we have established a fact: Amit Mehta isn't a very good affiliate marketer. It's apparent in his posts that he's pretty clueless. But one thing he is good at is marketing himself. The gay personl training and vacation pictures seem to be working for him. He's got a huge readership, which I'm sure he's monetizing somehow, so more power to him. If he doesn't post about anything useful to you, stop going to his blog.

Same goes with Uberaffiliate or any other industry blogger. If you don't like what they post, stop reading their shit. There, your problem is solved.

unless the super affiliates you metion are knowingly decieving their readers or personally harming anyone then theres no reaosn to hate on them.
 
I don't really hate anyone... i just enjoy jumping in on the mob mentality for a few minutes.

then back to work.

a lot of the hate comes from people who prolly aren't making $ and have nothing better do. or making enough and have nothing better to do (nickycakes)

It's not about hating anyone, it's about exposing these snake oil salesmen for who they are. Looks like you're trying to join the club. DP and Warrior Forum are that way --->

Like you, they enjoy showing everyone how large their e-penis is but fail to disclose that, in order to get that $300,000 affiliate check, they had to spend $285,000 on adwords.

And the argument that "Sure, they are spewing regurgitated pabulum, and yes they are making a living off of clueless newbies, but they are good at it and we should just leave them alone" is bullshit. Most con men are good at what they do and a lot of this shit is nothing more than Three-card Monte online.

I think you see more bashing here because the level of knowledge is much higher here, they can't get away with their bullshit here. If you know what Three-card Monte is, you're going to keep walking when the guy asks if you want to "Find the lady", you'll know its a scam and that the people gathered around are either shills or marks and you won't get suckered. You'll also tell all of your friends so they don't get suckered either.

And it's not about bashing the "make money online" bloggers in general. There are a lot of guys (and gals) who truly know their shit and share it unselfishly.

It's also funny how some say that the people doing the bashing aren't making money and are jealous and should be concentrating on their business. Usually it's the "super affiliates" trying to explain to their disciples why they are being mocked, but it's still a crock 'o shit. I've been making money online since '99 (hey, that rhymes), I was in AM before there was a Wickedfire, and I've worked my ass off to get where I am now and ,now that I have some time to kick back and relax and finally participate in the best forum for AM, I'm going to have some fun. Am I being immature, probably, big fucking deal. If you don't like it, don't read the threads.

Now, off to resurrect the epic maker-your-own-mehta thread.

You're in the wrong part of town to admit you visit Warrior Forum. We stand for pretty much everything that is the opposite of what they have come to. And I personally believe the members here prosper because of it. There's more abuse, but also more information that ACTUALLY can help. And isn't just made to get you to buy an ebook or whatever.

That said, when I was starting PPC(I originated with SEO), I found uber's posts quite helpful too.

People here are more educate/intelligent/savvy/whatever the hell you want to call it. Some of us have been suckered before, some of us have researched, some of us used to be (or still are) scammers... so we can spot the scams that these guys push.
The general info given out in the blogs of "super affiliates" is about as useful as the info on Wikipedia (seriously, I found wiki WAY more useful than Amit). It's a starting point at the beginning, but you should quickly move on from it, not hang on to their every word.
There are proper academics out there that know WAY more about this shit. Coercive sales, psychological tactics, SEO, etc... But they don't call themselves affiliate marketers or internet gurus, so few people ever get on to them.
Anyway, it's not the smartest thing to do to hop onto a forum in defence of the witch-de-jour. There are people here that have good reasons to hate these guys, and the rest are bandwagoneers. It doesn't help that these guys have no humility either.
Yeah, it's nice that they're making that much money, but they rub it in people's faces. We have our own people that are just as successful (if not moreso), like Brar and Nickycakes, and they don't publicly (I consider WF to be fairly private as things go) go about telling people how they earn kajillions and own an air-warfare-destroyer class cruiser and a JamesBondMobile. There's a bit of humility, and with that comes that bit of respect we pay to people.

Sticks79: I too am questioning where he's gotten the money from if he was barely scraping by, but dude, no need to go on the attack instantly. As with all things, draw out more info, assess the situation, and see what you can get out of it.
Yeah, he could be full of shit, he could be grinding an axe, he could have killed the elderly couple next door and taken the money out of their sock draw. You don't know. So best to find out, see if you can replicate or modify and use the concept.
 
I think you people need to think bigger.

Yes it's possible the OP is full of shit, but who cares? And furthermore just to automatically assume that says alot about the way you think and probably how successful you are in your own business. I believe that these goals are achievable... and if you don't think so then why are you here?
