Well, I finally got off my dead ass and created a phpbay site. Thanks again rgordon for the help.

Now, I'm off to get some links to see if I can get it indexed. It should be interesting to see what happens from here.

My plan is to let this one run for a few weeks. If it generates any cash, I'll get some more domains and keep cranking.

It should generate cash just get some links and then leave it. Don't wait for it to start making cash before you start pumping them out (if that's your plan). The sooner they're made the sooner they'll be indexed and start generating income.

While of course it would make sense to keep pumping them out. I would like to do that myself but I've stopped at 3 for now, since I've never really tried organic seo before and I have this sneaking suspicion that the SEs mocks me. It's the damned backlinks. I just don't see a viable yet time saving solution for building backlinks.

There a numerous 'free' backlinks to be had. Here are a few I tend to use:

1. Social Marker - Lets you bookmark numerous Social sites, even includes numerous no-follow ones.
2. Squidoo Lenses
3. Facebook Groups
4. Mahalo Pages
5. I also try to email other sites revalant to my own, and I tend to choose the ones who clearly have no idea what they are doing. This doesn't require my effort, and can easily grab you a few revelant links.
6. And if you are feeling really bored, this site searches for blogs that have actually follow comment links: http://www.wibbly.net/dofollow-search.html

And when you bookmark your ebay sites, digg and other well known sites will likely just ban your account (after a while). Instead just goto Google News, search for your primary keyword, and rehash a recent article. I still submit my homepage, which is where the article is displayed. These are all free links, and should get a bit of traffic if you choose the right keywords.

Yeah. That is the only problem with these sites is building the backlinks. I think you just have to assume that when you're creating a site you'll spend say X hours. In those X hours I think you need to ensure that this include link buildling. Without buildling links to your site it's really not worth making a site.

Good post OrganicOne those are all great places to get links. I normally use the dofollow search to get 5-10 backlinks for each site. Takes less then a half hour usually.
