I would wonder if people have had the same experience. I have 2 completely different topic sites and I found the Google does better on one of the sites then the other. This brings me to the question:

What's your favorite contextual ad program based on profits?

Well, YSM for me usually provides traffic that converts better. The traffic can usually be gotten cheaper too.

Adwords on the other hand, I can drive a hell of a lot more traffic with resulting in more profits but it converts worse and usually costs more.

I think it would really depend on your niche though.

I personally hate Adbrite.

But not for logical reasons.

You see, there once was this guy, named Pud.

He created a platform called MarketBanker so he could sell ad space on a VERY popular tech/geek/finance forum called FuckedCompany.com

Then Pud got greedy.

The shitstain applied for some VC financing through Sequoia.

Then Pud took his company and formed AdBrite.

Then he FUCKING KILLED Fuckedcompany.com's message boards.

Then he got FIRED as head of Adbrite, though he's still there.

So in conclusion. Fuck Phil Kaplan, you dirty sockfucker you.

I used to post on FC way back in the day. Didn't know they were dead

I think his "handlers", AKA Sequoia, told him to kill the BBS when it became a little unruly. I mean, yea we had fun, especially hitting other forums, but it got to the point where dudes overseas were posting kid pron and that kind of was the last straw.

E-Biz News :: Topic List still operates with a few of the oldies.
