Anyone into Martial Arts?

I had some training when I was younger. It helped me out of some sticky situations over the years. But I don't train anymore - haven't seen the inside of a Dojo for decades.

Karate is only teh ghey at the beginning.

Made it to 2nd brown belt, great stuff.
Also took to Capeira, Judo (now THAT is teh ghey), Iaido and Aikido.

Now I am just old and wobbly.

I wrestled for 7 years and a bunch of my friends are into UFC/Brazilian Jujitsu. So I did a little of that too.

My 11 y/o stepson just started. He came home from sparring class yesterday and walked into the kitchen and kicked me right in the nuts. As I'm keeling over from the pain he proudly recited what he learned from his teacher on what to do when someone tries to abduct him "between the knees is the key" he says with a cocky grin.

I couldn't help but to start busting up laughing once the pain started to subside.

Started Karate in High School and kept it up for years, but as I got older (and fatter) I switched to Akido and then to Tai Chi. My neighbor and I work out four or five times a week doing the form and wacking at each other with wooden swords - it freaks out the other neighbors in my quiet suburban neighborhood.

Dude, next time get a video. I think that would literally be something I would watch every morning to get me in the mood for work "that's me in an hour".
