How does the link relay?

I have just begun affiliate marketing, and have done lots of research and a little practice to limited success. I feel like I don't exactly know what I'm doing.

I guess what most confuses me right now is if I, say, set up a social ad on facebook linking to my offer (I'm using NeverBlue), how does NeverBlue and the offer know?

Is there a specific link I'm supposed to pull for the offer off NeverBlue, or does their tracking technology assign the click and/or conversion to my account?
 


AffiliateNetworks assign a userID to your affiliatelinks, when a user clicks your link your ID is attached to it: ex: example.com/reff.php?MyId
Myid being your id for that affiliate.
when a possable lead clicks on this link your id is tracked, a cookie is droped, and if the user returns at anytime to make a purchuse or folow threw with an action (CPA) you will get commission.
 
alright. so all i have to do is replace the "example" part with the offer url and the MyID with my affiliate id and leave the rest? (as in the .com/reff.php?)

1. go the campaign details page

2. click the search creative tab

3. copy the affiliate link, its the one next to Paid Search URL:

4. paste link in file

5. make all the monies
