Rob, I tend to start out this way but for me with this offer being specific got the best results, I think I had 1000 keywords and 25 got all my traffic so I got rid of the rest.

Ahh, I see what you mean

Yes, that is correct, it is best to cut off the dead wood, because it will increase your CTR and therefore your Google Quality score, which means you pay less for your clicks too.

Adwords isn't reslly set and forget thing.

Well I have not earned shit from this Anti Wrinkle cream, but hey what the hell it was my first true affiliate marketing project!

I did however start a few more projects while working on this one that are slowly starting to bring in money, which is good news! I thought the true affiliate marketing side of all this was next to impossible to pull off.

Some day when I have enough to blow $3.00 PPC on a campaign I will try to sell this anti wrinkle cream again :)

Thanks for all the help guys! You all really got me motivated!

Then you aren't good at AdWords yet. Keep trying, son. After a few week set up period I check stuff maybe once a month.

Agreed. But it does take some time to get it set up properly. And if you are really good at adwords, you can pretty much endlessly improve your campaigns for better results.

For example, I have a #4 spot on adwords right now that I am paying an average of $0.47 CPC for. Just 3 months ago, I was paying $0.81-$1.11 for that same spot. The difference is in the increased CTR that I have achieved on this particular set of keywords.

I could set it and forget it, but by improving this campaign, I have squeezed probably more than and extra $100/day profit out of it.

I have a hard time with that, because sometimes I feel like I should keep messing around with my current stuff, but then I'm like fuck it I'll set up something new and it will make more. I guess it is probably a personal thing.

Do both. Spend some time testing out new markets and spend other times improving your campaigns.

You can:
- Write new ads to go for a higher CTR
- Add more keywords
- Organize your campaign into smaller groups so that keywords match ads better
- Try registering different domain names (for the display URL) that might get a better reaction from your audience
- Create entirely new campaigns either on a different account or on different PPC engines
- Expand your keywords into typos (yes, you can get traffic from these)
- Expand your keywords into very long tail keywords (for some niches you can easily come up with hundreds of thousands of these... more than you could possibly put into your account)

It definately helps to keep your campaigns in good shape. I have seen some of my ppc campaigns die out in the past because I neglected them and the competition phased me out.
