Make sure that the site does not look spammy and before you do try to do some researching about the site.

Reads comments from members of the site.

Thanks
I know the site and trust thier AM, but I want to make sure that giving the # can't hurt me...

err...
no, you should not.

What should your AM want with it?

sorry about the black font...

The AM said it will help my ads to be approved.
Maybe I should give him instead the email i'm using for this account

Complete bullshit. I'd find a new merchant honestly. Anyone trying to pull that shit on you doesnt deserve your business.

Pull what shit? What can anyone do with your account #? They're not asking for login and password...

If a merchant has trademark protection with Google, they NEED to submit your account # to Google in order to get you on the trademark whitelist.

I've done this with a number of CJ merchants in order to be able to use their trademark in ads. If you don't want to publish the advertiser's name in public, PM me the name and network and I'll let you know if it's legit.

Are you trying to use/bid on trademarked terms? That's the only time where it would be needed.

Yes - the AM allow me use his TM in my ads and he wants to make sure google will approve my ads

Oh, probably on their trademarks you have to request an exception on Adwords, so by providing the merchant your Adword #; they will be able to selectivly accept your request.

yes - I guess so.
I want to use the TMs in a new campaign, but the thing is that few of my sites (other campaigns) got slapped in the last few weeks but now they are working . I afraid that this “special request”, will give Google a reason to go and review all my account and I might get slapped again.

Hmm... that's interesting. One CJ merchant I was running a ppc ad for specifically state in their terms that they "Encourage trademark bidding" yet google killed those keywords and sent me an email saying I was bidding on trademarks.

So I guess I need to find out how to get white-listed for that merchant.
Was wondering what the hell was going on. But the the campaign was coming to an end so I just killd it and moved on.

never heard of anyone asking for an account number.
Having worked on the advertiser end of affiliate programs where the brand had TM protection, but let affiliates use the TM in ads, it was extremely common.

Any TM holder that doesn't protect their TM in Google is pretty stupid. It's much easier to be proactive than reactive.
