Improving Dating Offer Conversion Rate?

Anybody have any obvious tips on improving dating offer conversion rates? I'm doing pretty well direct-linking (9-10%), but I feel like I could do a lot better.

I've been considering throwing up a fake blog a la laura's weight loss, except with a dating angle, but I'm not sure what aspects of the dating service to emphasize (I got laid in 3 days! I met my future wife! etc).

Anyway, if anybody has any advice I'd be grateful.
 


This is just off the top of my head and have never tried. Perhaps you can put up the blog, like you stated, but the angle can be how this guy met his future wife. Tell this guy's story from loser to wife, throw in some photos, etc.

You can probably do the same thing but from a woman's prospective how she's only been dating loser guy's until she found so and so on yourdatingsite.com. Tell her story like above.

Perhaps even a getting laid version where a guy tells of his expoits, etc.

It can't hurt to test all three.
 
I don't know jack shit about this sort of thing, but I would think a regular blog with other posts having nothing to do with dating would work. Just kind of throw in the dating thing as a side post and try and get some backlinks. Maybe say you tried two or three of the offers but didn't like X or Y about two of them. I'd go for casual, but what do I know? Or call it your "dating experiment" or something.
 
you could create stacks of your "conquests" face shots over thumbnails of the websites a ala mortal kombat starting screen where you choose novice, warrior, master, etc.
 
In your ads make people feel bad about their problem (being single) and offer a solution (join dating site X). For instance the headline "Are you Still Single ?" or "Still Single ?" converts better than "Single ?".
 
my professor said prisoners has internet and all they do is go on dating sites, so theres a target there you can hit on.

Not sure if you're joking or not but I know someone in prison and they definitely aren't allowed to use the internet.

Maybe it depends on the location/security level of the facility then...but I'm 100% positive my friend has no internet access. This is because they want to be able to monitor all communications between inmates. For example, if he wants to be able to write letters back and forth to another inmate, they have to go through an approval process and the letters that they write back and forth to each other are all screened by security before they are delivered.

alexb- do not waste your time trying to target female traffic for dating sites. These offers are built for the male demographic, just look at the creatives the Advertiser's supply.

How many Facebook Ads have you seen that have targeted women? There aren't any because they are not profitable.

Review site is your best bet. Just remember to target lonely, horny losers. Conversion rates should be higher Thursday through Saturday as well. Yes, I know there are examples of people actually using these sites and getting married- but the dating site business in general is basically soft porn with the possible chance of getting laid and being happy.

Dont just focus on guys looking for girls, because girls also look for guys ... and girls

And dont forget guys and guys :)
 
if you're direct linking does that mean you have to be outbidding the advertiser for the display url?
 
I think 9-10% is respectable, I've had instances where I've done higher than that but I'm right around 11%

horny guys will not read a blog. Don't waste your time. I don't think review sites will do too well. Chances are you're probably running singlesnet like half the planet. So make a lot of ads and fuck with them tweak your demographics targed 24 males in nyc 25 males in dayton ohio you might find some sweet spots. Don't forget to use a domain to reroute those links in case an advertiser goes down you can switch sites.

You can try promoting your site in social sites :) This can be a good start to "word-of-mouth" technique.
