That is obvious, but it does mean that he was spamming to a very high degree, to be sued for that amount. Which means he was making quite a lot of money with so much spam.

Edit: Actually 3-4 million spam isn't that much compared to most elite spammers. He is one unlucky fuck.

its worse than ever, no question. i literally just posted an ad that was a word for word copy of one of their recommended "good ads" and had it denied. not even diet related.
 
Actually it's funny to see.

We over here think that facebook is fucking themselves by denying ads and thus not make money.

On the other side ... Facebook users think that all facebook cares abotu is making money.

Facebook is full of crap...

If they were seriously committed to posting quality ads, they would review the ads before they allowed them to be posted. Instead, all they care about is the revenue they're getting for said ads.

Just a thought here. Actually what you say here is very true, that Facebook will allow ads that are emotionally demoralising because they make money out of it. And in most organisations these days, emotion serves no purpose to them because it does not bring in money. It's just sad that money speaks louder these days.

but the fact that they *are* making money off of these ads seems to me to be a pretty good motivation about not giving a shit about them. And being capitalist assholes doesn't mean it's a "conspiracy" - no one accused them of such - it just means they participate in exploitation and lack of scruples that further demean women. It's reprehensible and they need to take accountability for it. It's their website.

You greatly overestimate the ease of litigation. 99.999% of folks who are 'damaged' in some way always say "You'll be hearing from my lawyer". .000001% of them actually take action.

That wasn't really what I was trying to point out to Matt. Matt said, what would they sue Facebook over, that they kept seeing a very skinny person, so they it brought some physiological distress? And I said that there had been cases as crazy as that, and I gave examples.
