I am advertising on FB. I have a lander (which does well). Over the past 2 weeks, the amount of people clicking (percentage) from the Lander to the advertiser page has been decreasing. At the same time, the conversion rate has basically stayed the same.

What would cause this? Do the same people click my ad multiple times and when the see the same lander...they leave?

i assume changing my lander would increase this...but im just not 100% sure.

Thoughts?

You may be having the same individual clicks on your AD. Most likely your changing up your AD text frequently, so previous clickers believe your AD is new, but once they reach your landing page, which most likely has been unchanged, they realize they have been there already. So basically, your losing money on return traffic.

hmm...gotcha...that's pretty much what i thought. is there some kind of cookie dropping script that redirects people who have already been to my lander directly to the advertiser page? or would changing the landing page be better?

Rotating the landing pages via script would be a good option. Show them a different offer within the same niche.

i dont want to change the offer...only the landing page...

FB->LP->advertiser page

I want to change the LP...right? I'm losing the clicks from LP->advertiser page

If I were you, I would change up the offer page also. Let's say I saw an AD for a free iphone, I click on it, and then enter my email and all; and realize I don't like what I see. Next day I see another free AD, and I click on it, now; if its an free iPhone, I would most likely not fill out my email address; but if it's a free laptop, I would probably fill it out again.

I was talking from a visitors perspective.

From my experiences, ads' ctr on FB keep declining after the first launched. If you think you start loosing, pause the ads for about 3 days or so then resume it back. You'll see CTR will significantly increase. That's because your ads are being seen by the same users.

Yes, which is why it is wise to mix around the AD + the offer.

so what does everyone think about a script that basically drops a cookie and if a user lands on my landing page a second time they get auto redirected to the advertiser page?
