all the other major ones are available, I was trying to rank for that keyword in google. so should I just go with the .org or .info?

additionally, I can get the original domain if i add blog after it, but won't that hurt my affiliate offers in the long run because some don't allow blogging?

also, i'm using nameboy to generate alternatives. I'll post if i find anything else.

Thanks, all replies appreciated.

UPDATE: I can also register the domain if i add an article infront of it first. will having the article hurt my rankings that much? I'd have the(keyword)(keyword).com versus (keyword)(keyword).info or .org

I would definitely use .org over .info, unless you just want a cheap temporary domain, which doesn't seem to be the case.

Maybe there is close alternative .net?

I usually always try to get a .com first...

the(keyword)(keyword).com works sometimes... depending on what niche it is you can try my(keyword)(keyword).com too...

imho, it's better to have an exact keyword match for the domain, so (keyword)(keyword).net might be better than 'the' or 'my' in front...

I've actually never used a .org, so can't offer any advice there...

normally I'd stay away from .info, unless you just want to put up a really simple site or wp install on the .info, throw a few links at it to get it indexed and use it to pass a little link juice to your main site... I've done that before and used it to help get a .net ranked above the .com for the same keyword... but I think I did a little too much link building for the .info cuz I ended up with the .net at #1 the .info at #8 for the same keyword...

I try it with a hyphen in between the keywords w/.com, if that's taken after the kwkw.com, then I'd go for kwkw.org then .net.

Google has said that all non-CC TLDs are treated equally, but I wouldn't be surprised if it comes into their algorithm in some way or another.
