Hey guys first post but a big fan of WF

I got a question regarding media buys and how to go about doing them.

When I contact individual webmasters for sites im interested to advertise on, I get virtually no responses. Any tips on going direct or going through an agency?

Or feedback on how to contact webmasters.

Your guys' input is appreciated.
 


you gotta realize that those people get many many emails about that kind of stuff. Calling them, or an IM ping is a much better route to take.
 
Look for sites with ads on them already, form Adbrite/Adsense etc then call them or just target them with those ad networks.

If you do make a deal, make sure you get them to remove the network until your order is filled.
 
Definitely call the network. Adbrite and Quigo (ad sonar) are great for CPC traffic and have good targeting capabilities. If you go to one of the bigger ad networks - calling is the best way to get ahold of someone and be resilient. If you are looking for just cheap traffic, ask for remnant. You should be able to get some really good CPM rates for remnant traffic. They have it for like $.30 CPM. Some even go lower, but that is real garbage. If they try to sell you targeted traffic for more than $2CPM, they are ripping you off. These ad networks are struggling to find buyers - work them down. Use those negotiating skills!

retard....read the OP....he is buying on individual sites.

To the OP.....do whois on the domains...most probably wont be private....call them. Its easy to avoid people via email, not so easy on the phone. When you call say your a large media buying firm, or representing clients....make sure you come off professional.

Whether it is a single site or a network of them, my comments still stand. All sites have some sort of remnant inventory and they sell it on the cheap. They'll either sell it to you or they'll sell it to an ad network. So if you find an ad network who has the remnant inventory, it's usually cheaper than if you go direct. And either way, they only respond to a phone call. And have an idea what you are asking for. What size placements you want run, do you want premium placements (above the fold, highest traffic pages), do you want to day part it, etc.

Dig deeper cunt-for-brains.

If he's hitting up individual sites, it's safe to say he knows which sites have the traffic he WANTS, not the menstrual traffic you mention.

Maybe, just maybe, the OP knows what converts and wants to target the sites he wants to target, he just can't get through... You suggest going to some shit network like Adbrite and wasting time and money. Fuck off yeh bloody wankah.
 
I also suggest how he should talk to the site to not sound like an f'n retard and so that he can get the placements he wants. So if he has the site he wants, but can't get through, keep calling. And then know what you are asking for when you do get through. Pretty simple.
