That's a different subject, my main point being is that networks should morally be able to enforce a couple harmless simple rules especially if they are taking the fall for affiliates constantly.
Who is wasting time, and why so?
If you don't give a fuck, then I don't know how it would pertain to you. Any rules that are set by a network shouldn't adjust the way you run your campaign, unless it's going against an advertiser's compliance. If you're a legit affiliate, then you follow all rules naturally.
I've watched over your response and the response of
xmcp123 and I want to jump in on this, well at least the part when talking about email vs search links.
Basically what
xmcp123 is trying to say is that both email and search links for the same offer ultimately lead the user to the same offer, it doesn't matter which one we use both links do the same shit in the eyes of the user, we still get our same commission and the user still gets to the right spot.
And I have to agree with
xmcp123 when he says trying to enforce this by having "consequences" for affiliates who use the search links over the email links is full out
BULLSHIT.
This is because if the network was so concerned about there internal stats with tracking email vs search links, they would make the 2 links act differently, they would send them to a different landing page or something to change it up a bit.
That would force the affiliate to use the right links. You can't possibly say hey use the email links for email and the search links for search but still give them the oppurtunity to interchange them, if you do your asking for trouble when a large majority of people fuck up and interchange them your going to bitch about it to them.
Hell No.....you can't be serious...... as stated if you didn't want the affiliate using the email link for search or the search link for email you would have to change the links up to the point where they couldn't be made inter-changeable, forcing the user to use one or the other (Not even sure if that is possible, probably not so you just have to accept the fact that its a bad system in the first place).
Another example is your pretty much tossing $1,000 bucks on the ground, saying please don't touch it or there will be consequences, then getting in a vehicle and driving away, what the fuck the second you drive away that money is gone, thats because you wouldn't trust the guy in the first place.
To make sure the money remained and the person did what you said is you would hook up a high electrical charge to the money which would force the person to do what you said or at least dis-courage them from doing it another way.
