I'm interested if the offer still stands. I'm currently using WFReview Plugin so I would be able to give an objective comparison. Thank you for your time.

I am a long time Wordpress user. I do most of my landers in wordpress and can provide examples via PM. So if you're interested in having someone review your software that actually know what they're doing, I'll do it.

I also endorse WFReview (see my tutorial) but guys - don't just "assume" this plugin is status quo same old stuff - I've heard HBZsoftware is a KICKASS programmer, more than capable of developing a really, really good program. It looks like it has some plugin specific features that might fit certain niches better than other reviews site plugins, particularly with the custom fields and "chart" theme.

Goodluck Louis... eager to hear people's reviews!

Let's try not to hijack the thread with other products. That being said, I think it would be wise of the OP to pick someone like trig (not sure if he offered) who has reviewed prior similiar plugins (inlcuding BBs) and would give an honest, thorough review.

May the best plugin win!

Themes compatibitlity

What themes and version of WP is this compatible with? If it doesn't work what kind of support is offered?

Blowing cash on a cool plug-in only to find out that it doesn't work unless you use the most basic plain jane theme is no fun. I'm not saying YOUR plug-in is necessarily this way, just sayin..... If a plug-in doesn't work in the real world then it doesn't matter what features it has on the demo. Speakin of demos....

Ya might wanna fix yer demo, its currently showing

The encoded file /home/wpreview/public_html/demo/wp-content/plugins/re/activate.php has expired.

alexa7, mattonitto, cliqz, pax, thanks for offering, I'll PM you the details in a few minutes. trigatch4, if you're interested in doing a review let me know.

The plugin is compatible with WordPress version 2.7 and up.

You can auto-embed the plugin in any theme coded to as per the theme coding standards outlined on codex.wordpress.org. this means it'll work with about 95% of themes in the WP theme directory.

I'll be updating this to ensure continued compatibility with all the latest versions of WordPress.

WhatupG, I offer lifetime support. If you need help installing it, using it, or modifying it, I'll help you out. If you aren't happy within the first 30 days I'll give you a refund.

Thanks for pointing out that error. I got the demo online at about 1:00, and forgot to re-upload the activate.php plugin file to an working version.

I admit bb_wolfe does have a good plugin. But compare them. They are not the same. This offers a bit more flexibility, a custom fields feature, a post thumbnails feature, and two bundled themes designed specifically for reviews.

bb_wolfe offers a bit more in-depth CSV import feature, so if you are going to run national directories from scraped YellowPages data and that sort of thing, maybe his is the way to go. I do not know, I haven't used his plugin.

I developed this because loads of people had been contacting me saying they wanted review sites, preferrably managed by WordPress. My response was usually "OK, well I can integrate an existing plugin with the WordPress theme of your choice if you are interested, that would be chepest and easiest solution." But then they'd list features the existing plugins didn't have. So I figured there was a need and I could fill it.

OK, PMs sent. Thanks very much to everyone who's agreed to review the product. I really appreciate it. PLEASE give me honest feedback, not just positive feedback. I want to make this thing as kick ass as possible - so that means knowing what could be improved. And if ANYONE has suggestions, feature requests, etc. I WANT TO KNOW.

Also, I want to set up an affiliate program for WPReviewEngine. How do you guys recommend I do it? Put the product on an outside network? Or run the program in-house using software like iDevAffiliate?

I think the templates are off the fucking hook, awesome job.

No matter what the plugin function for any purpose, plugins are just a piece of a much larger pie. HBZ's software is pretty pimp and I can see a lot of people using it successfully.

HBZ, any chance you could get a video of the 100K imports being done?

Thanks.

I've never imported 100,000 records at once. I've always split up the CSV. The most I ever did at one time was 20k. I don't recommend even trying that, shared hosts will get angry.

I'll try to do 100k at once. We'll see if my script and server can handle it. If I can, I'll get a video up on the 28th. Keep in mind creating that many WordPress posts at once puts HUGE load on the server. Also, I have a very powerful dedi. Everyone on shared hosting, do not even think about trying this, you will really piss off your host.

Yea, I knew that already, but was curious if you found a workaround. I actually sponsored the WiFi at a WordPress camp in January where Matt Mullenweg was the keynote, you have no idea how much I wanted to bust his balls about the shitty import/scaling features of Wordpress.

HBZ, check out the IM Spring Break link in my sig, would be cool if you were to come.
